The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the November 16 governorship election in Anambra State, Senator Chris Ngige, yesterday said that the state governor, Peter Obi, was running a propaganda government.
He made the allegation while addressing Anambra State Peoples Assembly in Enugu.
Ngige accused Obi of non-performance despite the N2trillion revenue that accrued to the state since the inception of his administration on March 16, 2006.
The Senator representing Anambra Central said he established a committee for Anambra airport and commenced a 30,000 capacity stadium while in office.
He said at the moment, the airport and stadium
projects are not visible.
Ngige further expressed dismay that seven and half years of the Obi administration, Awka has no semblance of a state capital.
“People now go to nearby Enugu to spend the night whenever they attend conferences in Anambra State.
“If Anambra people in Enugu stay away during the election, it then means that you will be in perpetual slavery. We set up a committee for Anambra airport, they abandoned it.
“We started a 30,000-capacity stadium, they abandoned it. We built good quality roads for Anambra people, they built low quality roads.
“If you Anambra people vote us into power, we will renew Awka in our urban renewal. We will give you an airport. We will complete the stadium we started so that our youth will leave kidnapping and engage in sports.
“I want to synchronise education in a way that you will have free of education for your children.
The fees I left in our university to the equivalent of federal universities, today parents pay N130, 000. I secured accreditation in 35 programmes in our state university, today, 20 of those programmes have lost accreditation” Ngige said.
He recalled that he settled the arrears of salaries
of Water Corporation staff in Anambra and made the agency viable and productive during his first stint in office as governor, but Governor Obi came, sacked the workers and shutdown Water Corporation.
Ngige pledged to give civil servants attention in
Anambra state as somebody who was grounded in civil service, assuring that workers in the state will begin to receive minimum wage under his administration.
Commenting on the monetary donations to schools by Obi, Ngige described the gesture as an admission of failure, lamenting that the money was lodged in the banks to generate interest when it should have been given to the school way before now.

Ngige would've been the best element for the game if he had sprung from a reasonable party but this their apc bullshit is a real fiasco. You can't bring mgbati/tifnubu's influence down to Igbo land and still mexpect victory.

While highlighting your credits.

I am not an Anambrarian but I was totally disappointed by Lady Obi's role in the Lagos reunification saga.

He lied to gullible Nigerians about the whole matter and went into hiding when it was proven that his laid back Govt was culpable in the matter.

Indeed he is a propagandist and he needs to spend more time developing his state than telling lies to gullible Nigerians.

Negative campaign is a legitimate form of campaign. The strategy is to point to your opponents flaw. Hammer on it a million times, so that it will sink in the voters subconscious mind. Another strategy is to tie your opponent closely to an unpopular politician and run a campaign against both of them. The other strategy is to point to your achievements, then promise voters that you will do more for them. Ngige is deploying all these strategies at once. When all these strategies are used at once, it is called "a scorched-earth" campaign. This is an acceptable form of campaign in democratic climes. Peter Obi should stop whinning and deploy a counter strategy.

Go to Anambra and tell them you are struggling to see waht Ngige did as governor.

STFU you this ogbomosho boy. We Anambrarians don't struggle to see what Ngige did because he actually did little. Just fixing idemmili roads is not exactly what you will call wonders.
