Thank you so much for your response. It is greatly appreciated. The thing is, that reference letter was issued by my company, I don’t have an option of removing any details, basically my job experience is more of corporate governance compliance. I looked at the job duties of legal administrative assistant and at the time it looked like that was the right NoC. But I guess no, cause I was obviously wrong.

You seem to have a lot of knowledge about this, perhaps you could suggest to me what you think would be the appropriate NOC code? I don’t want to make mistakes again, cause definitely if God willing, the need arises for me to submit a reference letter, this would be the same version that my company would issue, since I’m still doing the same job.

Many many thanks in advance to everyone who takes out to help me out

jasperonyx:

Also, all these listed are the work you did, very good.

But are these all under Legal administrative assistant?

I understand the doing this and this, but when it comes to these journey, you have to sieve out the ones that do not fall under your Noc.

You can add the Noc for buisness development and list those experience under it.
If not, stick only to the duties under the Legal administrative assistant.

Odi kwa clear?

What's your English test results? Seem you did not get the complete point from your English test?
It's not easy for lawyers, except you are ready to repeat your IELTS, prepare frenche and pass, or explore Manitoba pnp which you need a friend connection
Or you explore Saskatchewan, but unfortunately, the lawyer and Quebec Noc is not in their in demand Nocs.

Except you can change to Legal assistant Noc which is also a lawyer job or Noc.

The reason I advise on Legal assistant if you are exploring the lawyer thing is because Law is a regulated profession, so you won't still practice until you get the required license, so I will always say, what's the point of using it.

Or you can get a job in Agriculture company, transport companies, For lawyers, I will always say, be strategic.

Finally, Patiently read page 1 for more information.
I am interested in this sir ...how do I go about it or the legal assistant my ielts was 6.5 overall

The Noc you used is ok, you just have to talk to your company to remove some duties, when you check your Noc, you will see title, duties, compare it to what you posted here.

There is no specific Noc that fit all these experiences you listed.

There are different Noc in this letter.

I already pointed out the ones you have to remove if you want to continue with the Legal assistant Noc.

Hello,

Please, can someone walk me through how to send my passport to Kenya VFS and how to make the transmission fee payment. I heard it’s faster there

Thank you!

To send your passport to Kenya, here are the steps I followed.

1. Passport request letter
2. 2x Photo Passport
3. International passport
4. CVAC form
5. Receipt of transmission fee payment.
6. DHL Return label
7. Eye and height chart
8.(optional) two photocopies of passport data page with email address and phone number.

You need the 7 documents above

Step 1: print out PPR letter, consent form (CVAC) and eye & height chart.

Step 2: make a passport according to the specifications (it’s on your PPR letter, also try to look fresh, I heard that picture will be used everywhere for a long time)

Step 3: Pay and get Kenya VFS transmission receipt. (It costs 32k now, but dollar rate might say otherwise). You can reach out for the contact i used, as I cannot just put the contact here.

Step 4: Have a DHL 'to and return' waybill documents (it costs 78k normally, it might cost more currently). You can reach out for the contact i used as well.

Step 5: put all documents asides the DHL Lagos-Nairobi waybill inside an envelope

Step 6: go submit the documents at any official DHL office close to you. ( they’ll ask for the DHL waybill document (Lagos-Kenya)

Step 7: buy coke and 3 puff puff, you deserve to spoil yourself.

@mrkong,
This should help...

Have you uploaded the degree certificate(s) or statement of results of the documents you sent to WES?

If yes, then WES is probably yet to receive the documents from your school. Call Birmingham to know the status of your documents request.

If no, quickly upload the certificate/SOR associated with the academic documents you sent to WES.

Lastly, call WES directly to confirm if your docs have been received from Birmingham, sometimes they are slow to update.

Hope this helps, good luck.

I'm I supposed to upload my certificate on the portal also. I doesn't say that on the website because the required documents lists only my transcript which is supposed to be transmitted from my university?

Should I go ahead and just upload my certificate?

Your university is expected to transmit your transcript ONLY while you (the applicant) are to expected to upload your Certificate or Statement or Result on your portal.

Please check your WES Account Timeline to identify the section you are required to upload your Certificate.

It doesn't state in the required documents that I should submit my degree certificate. I actually just called them and they said they haven't received my documents. The issue might be the reference number because the university portal for sharing documents doesn't include anywhere to add the reference number.

Although the university confirmed on their page that WES said they can match documents by names and date of birth

If these are what you stated as your experience, then indeed is a mismatch, what concern buisness development with legal assistant, it's a Noc of its own, the financial aspect you stated here, what concern legal assistant to it
.it has its Noc.

A lot of errors here .
Legal assistant is only legal work, no addition, whether you are working in the bank, church, it must be legal work only.

You do not have to list all these experience, you are using Noc for Legal assistant, stick to just the experience that fall under Legal assistant.

If you are choosing Noc for buisness development, avoid mixing it with work that fall under Legal assistant.

I hope it's clear?

Saw lots of error too.

Perhaps, your degree certificate wasn't required because of the institution you are sending from.

How about you also reach out to your university and ask for an update? If the documents haven't been transmitted, you could give them your reference number and ask them to attach it to your docs.

I hope this is resolved soon.

The signatures are adding up. Let's make this a reality..

So, I created a petition that seeks to end the rip-off IELTS keeps perpetrating with the 2-year validity of their test results, particularly for high scorers who scored btw Band 8-9. Surely, someone who got a band 9 shouldn't, wouldn't, couldn't have lost the skill that earned him/her a band 9 after two years.

Pls join the petition and let's make this change happen. Share across all platforms, as millions stand to benefit.

You don't have anything useful to say and yet what came into your brain was insults

my dear,
1) he did not insult you, he simply asked a rhetoric question. don't be so quick to be on the defensive; because firstly you are at the people's mercy and secondly its uncalled for. See my nickname is leopardinatree, but am i really a leopard in a tree? this is a platform where anyone can use any nickname they want even POTUS , there is someone called mrtrudeau if i am not mistaken, does that mean it is really mr trudeau? so relax, you could be a lawyer by profession or be using a pseudonym.

2) lets get to the main point: in any case, use your own maiden name. you can add your spouse (once he officially becomes your spouse) with a different name. not everyone changes their name to their husband's name. its perfectly normal to maintain your maiden name and the marriage certificate will act as the glue between the two of you. i for example have not changed my name and i have applied with my husband and it has not created any issues.
on that note, once you change your name, you will end up having issues with your academic certificates, passport, land ownership etc. it just opens up a can of worms in my opinion. even legally it is advisable to maintain your name for ease of reference (not saying that you may separate) but should it come to that, (God forbid) you will again start the process of changing back. Just maintain your maiden name whatever the case (again, just my opinion).

3) now comes the important part, firstly do research on both options. the pros and cons and the affordability factor as that may pose a problem along the way. calculate how much it would cost you as a student and how much it would cost you as a PR (both have a lot of associated and indirect costs). PR will require language tests and certificate evaluation, perhaps learning a new language (look at costs and time). Student route requires a heavy financial capital (increased from 10k to 20k upkeep excluding tuition fees etc). and as you said, your wedding plans are on the ground, consider that you will need upkeep for your dependant and also consider if you are to bear children soon after your wedding (costs of student health insurance and childbirth and all associated costs).
if you were to ask me, i would always recommend the PR route unless otherwise. that being the case, i would advise you to read page 1 thoroughly, research thoroughly and see who will be the better candidate between your spouse and yourself. even if you are the main applicant, do not change your name to his (again my opinion) even after marriage as there is not actual need for that. act as a singleton until after marriage in which case, you will add him later to your application along with marriage certificate. you can update the EE profile at any time. and if you use his name, you will fail to back that up with documentation. unless you begin to change all your documents to reflect the change as soon as you apply. your passport issue date will say (for example 2023) and you created your EE profile in 2024, your wedding took place in 2025. how then will you apply using said passport and said profile when you did not yet legally acquire the name at the time of profile creation?make your application easy and straight forward for the visa officer. dont confuse his head with dates and names.

i hope you will pick-out the important points and they will be useful to you in your decision making. in conclusion please behave like a lawyer who has encountered many civil, family/inheritance, divorce, criminal and whatever other cases and not like a naive infatuated young lady. every detail matters no matter how small. these are big decisions you are making. get your head out of the clouds and put on your big girl pants. it is not meant as an insult. sisterly advice from someone who has probably seen the sun before you. all the best

My work portfolio is all encompassing that’s why you can see several job duties.

But genuinely I’d love to hear your opinion on what NoC code you think I should have chosen.

I spoke to our HR and they mentioned that they can’t adjust the reference letter as what they have stated is indeed what my job entails.

Per the advices I’ve received here I’ve come to understand that my job includes several NoC. So if you can render any advice on which NOC you think is most related, I’d appreciate your input.

I’m reattaching the reference letter for your review.

Thank you honorable member 😂😂😂

Congrats to everyone who has gotten their PPR and COPR. Please note the following.

Driving is not a luxury in Canada, it is a double necessity. So before you leave Naija, get your International Drivers license, it will help for your first 3 months or till you are able to get your drivers licence here.

Also get the drivers test handbook, begin to study it just like you did for IELT (I have attached a copy here for you). All those our driving in naija no be am. There are apps in your app store to also help you.

When you arrive / land Canada, you should write the test and once you are successful (score 25 out of 30). You will be eligible for a learners license or permit. With this permit you will be able to drive (with a full license holder seated beside you while driving). Also you will be able to exchange your Nigerian driver license (make sure it is not fake) and be giving the privilege of applying for a full licence. In Alberta it is called class 5 Advance and Ontario it is called G.

Passing the road test is not often Child’s play. But you can pass both knowledge test and road test once. (To God be praised, I did).

For those in Alberta and around Calgary, I will be willing to help you pass the road test, you can get in touch.

For others I wish you the best

So hope this is helpful

God bless you.
Remember Jesus is Lord,
He does forgives and still saves the baddest or worst of sinners

How about this case gets taken to a court in Nigeria? A judgement can ban the entire IELTS from Nigeria if they fail to comply.

If one man can secure a judgement against a dubious charge by the Nigeria Medical association, we can do same to IELTS.

After India n China (non English countries), Nigeria is most likely the next country that takes the exam the most. If Nigeria can't do it, who else will stand up for the English speaking world? We can hurt them real bad.

I know it won't affect students cos they will still have TOEFL n Duolingo, what English exam options are there for people who are immigrating? And will we be infringing on some people's rights if a judgement can be secured to ban the exam?

We can make sign a change dot org petition, but it's just noise.

There is a petition that almost 300,000 people have signed against Naira Marley but it's just useless noise.

Open for debate. Their excesses is too much.

And why should WES lasts only 5 years? Did my school suddenly lose its accreditation? I mean, what sort of nonsense is all these?

For VFS rescheduling:

All the info on VFS website can't help you in rescheduling as the numbers don't go through and the e-mail also isn't been replied.

You can't even register a new account with a different email or phone to book another date, cos once you get to filling in your details it will tell you, your ircc number is already in their system.
To reschedule again, you have to write to them to detach your ircc number and details, so it is free and you can now rebook a date.
All the details for this are completely different from what they have on their website and obviously the guys outside the office at Iketa-Lekki have this details, reason they are milking the public through it.

This is the email address and contact to them:
Phone: +234 81501 99900
Email: canadang@vfshelpline.com

You can just write a short email saying: You missed your appointment for "this date" and wish to reschedule. Kindly release my IRCC No: ********* in order to allow me rebook the appointment.
Thanks.

They would reply to you shortly and tell you to proceed as your details will be released from their system and you can re-initiate again.

Hope this helps someone out there.
