So basically, they're just asking for the CBN to clarify the correct percentage to be deducted. They are not asking for the policy to be stopped. Rubber stamp reps. They are playing hide and seek. Maybe after meeting with tinubu they will change tune after widening the tax net. Imf and world bank needs to go somewhere else with their stupid loans. Loans have not really help ilus in anyway but more money to steal. If you are transacting business with 10m. The business partner will ask for cash or you pay additional 50k for the cyber security levy. Only someone with shady wealth or fraudsters will comfortably pay additional 50k for 10m transfer. Anyone with hard earn money will resist paying 0.5% from business capital just like that.. I don't feel it should be scrapped but the charge reduced to around 0.2% or even less. Nigerians can shrug the lower figures off. |
