1. Building Materials for standard pen house

A single building can contain single row of cages would be suitable. The width should be minimum of 4.2meters and length of 21metres,height of 3metres. Utilize the cage detail below in construction bearing in mind that the row will have a gutter for their waste or manure.

peak at about 27-35 weeks of age. At 75-80% production 25-27 crates (30eggs/crate) per day and
Birds will consume 5bags of feed per day.
The average daily revenue could sum up to ₦18,900 @ 650-700 per crate wholesale price
daily expenditure on feed within ₦13,250-14,750@2650-2950 per bag (₦397,500-442,500 thousand monthly). Revenue per month (₦526,500-567,000@30days calculation).
Spent layers would always be sold at the end of one year of lay and utilized in the purchase of replacement stock.
With smooth operation business will break even by the 2-4 years of operation.

Fumigation should be carried out twice on the environment; after cage installation,before restocking birds

II. Feed: Feed wrongly formulated could lead to the failure of the project,buy feeds only from reputable mills,agents etc check for spoilage and store in non-humid/moist environment.

III. Water Management: Water is the major source of disease outbreak. Mismanagement could lead to a great loss, ensure that your water source is checked for impurities, equipments/accessories should be cleared often to avoid contamination with faeces.

IV. Vaccine: Inadequate production of local vaccine leads to procurement of vaccines that might have been mishandled. This could result in Vaccine break. Immunity test purchase from reputable vets,agents etc
