D'Tigress group games are as follows (all times in Nigerian time): September 22: Australia v Nigeria at 11:30am September 23: Nigeria v Turkey at 8:30pm September 25: Argentina v Nigeria at 5:30pm Australia are ranked 4th, Turkey are ranked 7th, Argentina are ranked 16th, while D'Tigress are ranked 42nd in the world by FIBA. It sure looks like D'Tigress are in a "group of death". |

Not to be left out, the D'Tigers are also involved in qualifiers for the 2019 FIBA World Cup, which will be hosted by China. It will feature 32 teams, for the first time ever. D'Tigers breezed through the first qualifying round, beating Rwanda, Mali, and Uganda; and out-scoring their opponents 605-387. Yes, D'Tigers scored 605 points in 6 matches! In the final round of qualification, they will square off against Senegal, Rwanda, Central African Republic, Cote D' Ivoire and Mali in group F. Tunisia, Morocco, Cameroon, Angola, Egypt, and Chad are in group E. The top two teams in both groups, and the best third placed team will advance to the world cup. The final qualification (group F) round runs from September 14 - 16 in Lagos, and from February 22-24, 2019. |
