Funmi hisses, we don't have this much pagans in todays osun. It's either the pictures were doctored or lots of visitors came in from afar for the rituals. I even saw some non yoruba looking girls and women there . |

Actually the osun river festival is a tourist attraction, it is actually being considered to be listed s a world heritage site. So most of the people you are seeing in the pictures are not actual worshippers they are just spectators/ tourist. |

Re: Osun River Worshippers With Austrian Woman As Priestess (pictures) by ssRhino: 2:02pm On Sep 03, 2008 |
Pastor AIO: There is no reason why an animal shd be subjected to such cruelty all cos u wanna make some sacrifice, haba. |
Re: Osun River Worshippers With Austrian Woman As Priestess (pictures) by PastorAIO: 2:56pm On Sep 03, 2008 |
But it is okay to subject it to cruelty because you want to eat it. At least people wey dey sacrifice are doing something edifying with it (according to their beliefs, sha), as for you na so so gluttony dey inspire ya cruelty. haba, malu dey suffer for that country shaaaa! I'm not taking sides but I think if we are really concerned about animal cruelty (I am, you see) then we should properly address and tackle the issue. Not use it as an excuse to bash other people's religious beliefs. |
Re: Osun River Worshippers With Austrian Woman As Priestess (pictures) by ssRhino: 3:34pm On Sep 03, 2008 |
Pastor AIO: that isnt the point, if u kill something, at least treat it with some dignity and not just put the head of the chicken anyhow on da floor. anyhow, i dont see pple killing what i eat, else, i wont eat it. |

I doubt these people even understand what they're worshipping. Those statues look more like a western concept of African art, than something that actually originated from an African mind. I've seen many examples of African art/religious work in museums, and their basic designs and aesthetics look nothing like these ones. make people stay there dey worship German Osun without German visa. http://www.moomintrove.com/ |
Re: Osun River Worshippers With Austrian Woman As Priestess (pictures) by agaba123(m): 5:28pm On Sep 03, 2008 |
Actually I think it was the austrian woman that erected the statues. Guess I read that, not sure again. If so, then you are right |
Re: Osun River Worshippers With Austrian Woman As Priestess (pictures) by tpia: 5:36pm On Sep 03, 2008 |
agaba123: she's the most popular Osun priestess and actually the only one known to most people. I'm not sure if her portfolio is osun worship or African traditional art. |

The bible recorded that our people perish because of lack of knowledge. why cann they believe in God and put their faith in him and see if their problems will not be solved? imagine some peoples drinking the water. Impatience will kill some people |

Re: Osun River Worshippers With Austrian Woman As Priestess (pictures) by DeepZone: 6:59pm On Sep 06, 2008 |
what is the difference between river jordan, pool of siloam that was recorded in your bible and river osun? The difference is that the ones recorded in the bible is just a river and no god or goddess was being worshiped. |
