I opened my first bank account in 2013 when the bank contract staff was pestering me about opening an account as a student savings account and I wasn't up to 18 years of age then so I increased my age.
I never knew it was real then so sometime in 2015, I went to the bank to open an account officially but I was told I already had an account, so I applied for BVN and I was verified.
Fast forward to 2019 when my mum sent 100k+ for my school fees to me in full which is above my daily single deposit and my account was restricted, so I went to the customer care to complain and I was told I have to upgrade my account before I can access the money.
So getting to NIMC office to apply for NIN I was told my BVN date of birth and the date of birth I tendered to them doesn't correlate. I have to go and change my DOB in bank before i can register NIN.
Meanwhile I just have 3 days before examination commence so I told them to use the BVN date of birth which isn't my date of birth so as I can be able to upgrade my account and pay my school fees.
Along the line, the NIMC agent told me that if I wanna change the DOB in the future, it's gonna cost me 15k and I'm gonna go do in their office at Alausa, Secretariat.
So right now I want to go change my NIN date of birth and also my BVN date of birth and I don't know who have gone through the process.

Yes, its true, you can only change it there in alausa sec, i would advice you if u can go there yourself or email me i had similar experience in 2020 during endsars saga, it cost me 10K Then, i dont know about now o, i can connect you with someone there, so you can just go and meet him there to make it easier and faster for u

I pass through something like this with First Bank, I needed my First Bank account for something serious not school fees. I had to go back to Wema Bank where I did my BVN reg. for change of data.
After that I submitted my BVN with 15k online payment receipt, my Waec result and certificate of birth to NIMC for change of data. I now had to wait for at least 2 months for the change to reflect on my NIN.
I now later submit the NIN and BVN to First Bank for account update.
The process wasn't easy at all, but I'm happy everything is over.

This process is the exact process the NIMC agent told me and the main reason I relent changing it since cos of the stress but as it is right now, someone can't escape the stress.

just follow the laid out guidelines at their office or follow what you are told ..try and ask two to three personnel if possible to be sure of what ur doing.. and remember that they will stress you and frustrate you.. be ready for that

i was just following it up to see if it was real so i could apply, although he told me to register with the others last week so i could be disbursed in 4 to 5 days time but reluctantly i decided to wait until i see proof

it's possible that he just started work and not aware how the company really operate. What pains me most was someone that was desperately looking for loan that I introduced to him. he will now be looking at me with one eye

Please you people should open a thread concerning your loan matter cos it's like you have successfully derailed the purpose why I opened this thread
