And their salary are never delayed a day later. Also, this is excluding other allowances especially for special duties carried out (VIP escort, etc.), for some barracks, especially the ones hosting high ranking generals, they're fed three square meals a day, while other barracks the feeding money has been used top their salaries at a ₦1,500 per square meal. This is one of the reasons why coup may never happen again and I thank God for whoever gave Nigeria this wisdom from the US. 7 Likes 1 Share |

False? army salary is almost thesame with palamilitary just a little difference. The same with academic staffs in universities, although their allowances depends on the postings and courses.i have a family member who is lieutenant col in the army. Army never earned that much 1 Like |

Meanwhile minimum wage per hour in UK is £10, assuming you're working 4hours perday =£40x25 days=£1000 @ d rate of1k =1million. So if you're working 6hrs daily, your earn higher than a General in the Nigerian army.we really need to do something about the wage system/structure in this country. |

The basic salary is nothing to write home about but a commissioned officer lives a larger than life lifestyle. I suppose their allowances are juicy or they are good at stealing public funds. |

We4all:The salaries were good at some point for a third-world country. It's inflation that has eaten into the value. Plus they get allowances depending on posting and you can never write off corruption because generals own houses their wages should not be able to afford. |
