Budaatum, Professor Bill McGuire is emeritus professor of geophysical and climate hazards at University College London. Professor of climate change.
He has a novel idea on how to reduce emissions.

MentalCase98:

I like how Fareed admitted that the indictments against Trump are politically motivated. He said a flimsy indictment like the NY one would never have been brought against someone not named Donald Trump.

In fact most democrats are indirectly admitting it by openly saying things like “we just need to get him convicted before the election”. If this was truly about justice and not politics then why the rush to get it done before the election? Why not just let the legal process play out the way it should with the full rights of the defendant in order?

Blake Masters: It’s hard to put into words the staggering corruption of Alvin Bragg’s kangaroo court in New York City:

– The District Attorney lowers half of all felonies to misdemeanors yet raised a misdemeanor to a felony in order to indict Trump.
– The lead prosecutor was a DNC consultant and number 3 at Biden’s DOJ before being hired by Bragg to go after Trump.
– The other lead prosecutor donated over $1,000 to Joe Biden and ActBlue in 2020.
– The judge donated to Biden and his daughter is a left-wing activist who is using the trial to raise money for Democrats.
– The lead witness is a convicted perjurer who is selling t-shirts of Trump in jail on TikTok.

This whole thing is a joke and wouldn’t be happening if President Trump wasn’t leading in every swing state poll.

Mike Benz: The judge is so financially conflicted he wouldn’t even be allowed on the jury. The star witness is a multi-crime convicted felon who in most states wouldn’t even be allowed to vote.

Since April 2024, when California’s $20/hr minimum wage law for fast food workers went into effect, McDonalds has cut 1,200 CA-based jobs, while Pizza Hut has similarly cut 1,300 jobs..

Moreover, Pizza Hut and Papa Johns have also laid off ALL their delivery drivers in California. Yikes!

So who is the law benefitting? The worker who have lost jobs or who?

Maybe they are better off being jobless and on welfare than working for less than $20 an hour

The Law, Order and Morality party.

I mean who hasn't had sex with a Porn Star without a condom while their wife was home pregnant. /s
Might make a good discussion for Mike Johnson's Sunday School class.

Aside from the layoff, the price of the items will go up as well.
I bet the folks that lost their jobs might be gearing up to move to Florida, a poor state

It’s not been a big benefit to the workers for sure

I would like to see the data behind what type of employees were fired.
The question is can someone survive on less than $20 hours a day w/o supplemental aid? I read a good article a few years back talking about how most Walmart employees were also on some sort of welfare and/or medicaid. I would assume that would also be true for these fast food employees outside of students.

So in the end, when the wages were lower, these companies were socializing one of their primary input costs(wages) yet privatizing the profits. Maybe the public good of cheaper fast food is worth it. Maybe we should do more upfront subsidization of the industry instead of the backdoor way (people also applying for benefits). Maybe we should tier the jobs based on age, young students are allowed cheaper wages.

I think it's a good discussion to have, unfortunately, in this political climate we live in, impossible.

---The sad state of Trump's Republican Party---

Marjorie Taylor Greene is raging about Mike Johnson’s trip to NYC to make a statement outside Trump’s trial. She says he wasted taxpayers money to fly up there to fake outrage when he can’t even do anything about it because it’s a state case not federal.

If criminal trump is using senators and speaker of the house to overcome the gag order placed on him stemming from a criminal trial, then the lurchins maga cultists taking rent on this board are even more pragmatically demented and deranged.
Don't take anything they say seriously, the dumbest of the lot these people.

Haha. MTG is absolutely wrong on this, as there is nothing wrong in a friend (Speaker Johnson) showing support to another friend in court 😁

Biden is proposing to debate Trump in June and September, ditching the traditional Commission on Presidential Debates-organized debates…

Biden is seriously confused and desperate. all of a sudden he is the one that is proposing a debate as his approval rating tanks and Trump is in the lead in the polls.

they fixed it on 27th June. for me, I think Trump should not take it, especially on a network like CNN. even if Biden messes up, CNN can personally set up Trump and make him look angry and aggressive.

Well, Trump has already accepted the offer. And both candidates have agreed to another debate, in September, to be moderated by ABC.
The only mainly point of contention is whether there would be a live audience at the debate venues…

No matter what, this is a lose for trump. You will watch him get angry and it will become a debate between him and the moderator because the moderators will be anything but impartial

Trump did not do any debate for the GOP primary and won easily.

They should conclude all debates before the first vote is cast. Not like early voting would have started and the debates would still be ongoing

Let voters have all the facts before going to polls

In 2024 Trump skipped debates and won the nomination

So Biden is now putting tariffs on Chinese products 😂 what did he say when trump was doing that, and will he do it adequately?
All his reactive decisions will only sink him more.

Back in 2019, Biden slammed then-President Donald Trump's move to impose tariffs on $300 billion worth of Chinese imports.

"Trump doesn't get the basics. He thinks his tariffs are being paid by China," Biden said at the time. "Any freshman econ student could tell you that the American people are paying his tariffs."

Then in 2020, while campaigning for the White House, Biden vowed to remove Trump's tariffs if elected.

He also thinks tariffs boost exports 😂
He does not understand tariffs are their to protect domestic products from foreign products at the expense of the people.

For me, trump shouldn't have accepted the debate. We all know what will happen. That's my problem with trump, he is always taking stupid risks.

Biden is far better at debates than Trump. Even Trump himself acknowledged that before their last debates in 2020.

He should have participated in all the GOP debates. Since he didn't, maybe he feels this is the chance he has to let people outside his base hear about his policy.
