Thread On Volunteering Opportunities In Nigeria by joywendy(f): 10:27pm On Jun 15, 2020 |
Good day Everyone. Over the past two years, I have involved myself in volunteer work with nonprofit and Non-Governmental organizations. It hasn’t been an easy task, it takes a lot of dedication, resilience and passion. Due to the nature of the kind of society we are, it is hard for anyone to imagine working on their own free will without any monetary compensation. People have asked me, “why do you work so hard for an organization that won't even pay you (payment in this context refers to money).” Initially, this got me upset and over time I understood that it wasn't really their fault. Most people have not fully grasped the idea of volunteering especially in Nigeria. Anyways, I have gained a lot of networks, friends, improved my skills this short period and I will keep volunteering till my last breathe. I noticed that there are no particular threads on nairaland that focuses on Volunteering opportunities. So I will be posting opportunities here for people to sign up to. Also if you have volunteering opportunities you can also post here. Please while posting ensure to have the following. 1. Details of the organization( what they do) 2. Link to the website or social media of the organization. 3. State location. If it is remotely state that too. 4. Method of application for the volunteer role 5. You can also state what the volunteers are needed for. Let's get rolling y'all!! 1forall, CrazyMan,seun, lalasticlala, davide470, uboma 22 Likes 8 Shares |

I volunteered with HOPE worldwide, GIVE networks, Planen Tekad and even the CE healing school in Lagos in those days. I didn't know there are other volunteering opportunities in this country or even if Nigerians like volunteering. I'll like to volunteer wherever volunteers are needed, especially in Lagos and online. 4 Likes |
