Scholarship Program 2012
(Partial Tuition Scholarships for Document Control Competency Development)

Hello,
As part of RIMA Foundation objectives in promoting the development of the Information Management industry in Nigeria and Africa, the foundation under the RIMA Foundation Scholarship Program (RFSP) is offering partial scholarship to applicants who are interested in the Document Control Discipline starting August 2012.
This is in response to the shortfall of Document Control (DC) competency and inadequate professionals required to fill the various positions in the Oil and Gas Industry in Nigeria and Africa.
This program is targeted at interested individuals who are considering a Document Control Career in the Oil and Gas industry with little or no training in the discipline. Other practicing Document Controllers attending the certificate program as a re-fresher are not eligible to take advantage of the Scholarship program as the scheme is solely designed to encourage new entrants into the discipline.
Program
• Document Control & Management System - Certificate
The training course includes a Course Certificate which will be issued at the end of the training to each student after the completion of the course and quiz.
Course Content
The course content will cover introduction to records management, technical document management, standards, project phases, document numbering, document types/classification, document distribution (matrix), storage and retrieval. The practical session using document management tool will feature creating user and user groups, creating approval types, creating Folders, importing documents, approving documents, issuing a change request and approving it, checking out a document, checking in a document, commenting on a document before approving it etc.
Course Duration
1 Month - Available Weekend Only (Lectures starts: August 25, 2012)
Application Period
The application period is between June 1 – August 10, 2012 (Attendees will be drawn into different batches based on registration from June to December 2012)

The RIMA Foundation Scholarship Programme (RFSP) is designed to assist eligible applicants who are not in a position to pursue their career paths in the areas of Information Management and Security to maintain, enhance, and/or develop their professional skills.
It is open to members of the RIMA Foundation Knowledge Network (RFK-Network Members) and other members of the public interested in RIMS career path in Africa.
