Why can't they just at list Expand this road to larger extent, look at how tight and narrow the road is, such road is expected to a highway with barrier/divider to stop pedestrian crossing over. Look at how empty the land behind is wasted to be occupied by Shanties. They ain't actually building for future city expansion, traffic and economic activists that comes with it. Not even a covered drainage, the kind of mosquitoes it's breeding won't help the eradication of malaria/ typhoid. I just weak for this people

The road ought to be a dual carriage highway, but due to paucity of funds they maintained it's single carriage highway, though it was expanded by 7meters

You don't just post pictures for posting sake, most of your pictures have already been posted years ago!

This government house roundabout you posted here is a very old picture. They have since demolished it and the place is no longer like that.

Your pictures are misleading!

You guys should stop spamming this thread by posting old pictures. All these ones you posted here are already in this thread.

This is irritating!

I have always avoided you, until you mentioned me.
Go ask IMSG leaders from Orlu senatorial zone who you represent: why can't they rebuild fire service station in Orlu which was established to protect people in the zone in cases of emergency, why they can't make the zonal football stadiums in Orlu functional, why they can't build a drainage system to check floods, why they can't reconstruct the dilapidated urban roads in Orlu. What they do by using federal allocations of Orlu to dig all over Owerri area is like shooting oneself on the foot.

IMO STATE PUBLIC ENLIGHTENMENT

IMO STATE MINISTRY OF HEALTH MEETS CONCESSIONAIRES OF GOVERNMENT BUILT HOSPITAL BUILDINGS

"We Want To Find Out Who Are The Concessionaires, If They Have Built, Funished And Are Operating Clinical Services amongst others" ~ Dr Success Prosper-Ohayagha, Imo State Commissioner for Health.

The Imo State Commissioner for Health, Dr Success Prosper-Ohayagha today met some the Concessionaires of 14 out of the 27 hospital buildings across the state.

Some of the uncompleted hospital buildings, fourteen in number were concessioned out to institutions and organisations under the previous administration of Owelle Rochas Okorocha.

Addressing the meeting, the Health Commissioner disclosed that the purpose of the meeting is to:-

▪ Find out those who have completed the buildings, furnished and operating clinical services.
▪ Find out their next plan of action - whether to continue along the terms of the agreement or relinquish the hospital buildings.
▪ Find out those who have completed and started operations, investigate Board memberships which are to include State Ministry of Health Representatives.
▪ Find out if payment of fees to the Government has been made - when they started and arrears of payments.
▪ Find out those who have not started, reasons for failure to start and solutions on way forward.
▪ Find out if payment of 2% to host communities has been made - Those who paid and those who have not paid and reasons for non payment.

From the documents tendered, most of the hospital buildings were concessioned within the month of May 2019, under the Imo State Public, Private Partnership Law No. 11 of 2018 for a period of 25 years with management and proprietary rights vested on the Concessionaires, but with certain agreed fees payable to the government after a moratorium period of six months in fulfilment of the "Concessionaires Convenant ".

At the end, it was discovered that only the operators of the Ikeduru and Orlu hospitals have made strides in terms of building, furnishing, maintenance and clinical services.

On the whole, the payment accruals to the government has not been met by all.

In the end, Dr. Success Prosper Ohayagha reiterated the determination of the government to revoke agreements where there are clear cases of non-performance such as non payment of fees to the Government, lack of capital investment on the infrastructures, absence of clinical services to patients, and non compliance with employment policies especially those meant for the benefit of indigenes of host communities.

Cc Amah70 so is the new Orlu general hospital okporo operational as stated here, I was told a USA based Orlu indigenes NGOs took over it.

Bolded

Your LGA is not far from Orlu:
Okporo where the hospital is, is nearly halfway between Omuma in Orueast LGA and Orlu LGA.
In fact, people from Omuma will get to Okporo hospital earlier than people from Amike and Eziachi in Orlu.
The government you represent on NL refuses to rebuild the crumbling urban infrastructures in Orlu. By implication, it's like also arresting modern development in the LGAs near Orlu.
If IMSG had refused to provide Owerri with needed devt infrastructures, Naze, Irete, Umuguma, Uratta, Ohi, Orogwe, would remain rural villages with only their indigenous people today. Cost of landed properties in these Owerri areas have hit the roof. Cost of landed properties in an area is indicator to the level of modern development in the area.

Land alone does not make up landed properties.
Cost of buildings, rent, hotel and hostel accommodation fees, are also in cost of landed properties. They are very high in Owerri area.
In Orueast LGA, and indeed, in the other LGAs of Orlu senatorial district, cost of landed properties is ten times lower than cost of landed properties in Irete, Umuguma, Uratta, Naze, not to mention Owerri city centre itself. Governors from Orlu senatorial zone who build infrastructures only in Owerri make indigenous land owners of Owerri to get super rich, but impoverish people in Orlu senatorial district, because they can't build or reconstruct social infrastructures in Orlu area.

This Banana junction in Orlu, former governor Rochas Okorocha got a company to build extra 2 service lanes along the Owerri-Orlu road from Banana junction to Building materials market.
That was when he was doing urban renewal of Orlu. But he abandoned the whole urban renewal project of Orlu when Owerri juju caught up with him. Thereafter, he resorted to demolishing and rebuilding Owerri urban roads, markets, etc; he went into building federal prison and police headquarters in Owerri area.
The many urban renewal roads started and abandoned in Orlu by Okorocha remain uncompleted.
Former governor Ihedioha made urban renewal of Orlu a top priority to his administration. In contrast, the present administration reconstructs and builds urban roads only in Owerri.

In this situation, let IMSG leave the federal allocations and income generated in Orlu for development of Orlu; instead of putting those allocations and income into urban expansion and infrastructures in Owerri.
People like you believe that state governors must build state capital to international standard- Okorocha's style, before building the urban infrastructures of Orlu and other places. That's what half-educated persons believe.
