peckhamboi: 15 People arrested in Olu Falae's house in Akure for thumbprinting for Labour Party

ATLEAST 15 persons were held Friday in Akure, Ondo State capital over illegal voting ahead of today’s governorship election.

They were caught stuffing ballot boxes with thumb-printed ballotpapers.

Sources told Saturday Vanguard yesterday that the suspects were caught in the residence of an Afenifere chieftain who recently endorsed one of the gubernatorial candidates in today’s election.

The Police got wind of the illegal voting and stormed the residence of the Afenifere chief and arrested the suspects.

It was discovered that the retrieved voting materials were the leftover of those that were used in the 2011 elections.

The intention of the suspects, it was learnt, was to swap the fake ballot boxes with the original ones on the way to the counting centres.

The suspects are allegedly being detained in police custody.

Saturday Vanguard also gathered that a similar illegal voting exercise is taking place in many other places in the state.

3.       In order to ensure prompt and efficient processing of ID cards, all the accredited observer groups are enjoined to compile the photographs of their members for deployment in Ondo along with the names and submit in hard and soft copy (CD please using J PEG drive) to the Election Monitoring and Observation Unit, INEC Headquarters on or before Friday 21st September, 2012. 

4.       Meanwhile, the Commission wishes to stress that any observer groups other than those listed above found in Ondo State for the said election shall be blacklisted.

Is Vanguard now an ACN newspaper supposing we agree that The Nation is Tinubu's?
So the Journalist that works with The Nation also works for Vanguard?
So because both media houses reported a story that indicted your chosen Party, there are no longer Credible. Sites when in fact there are among the highest selling newspaper in Nigeria.
If Vanguard had reported that ACN member's were caught thumb printing ballot papers, surely you would never doubt the authenticity of such news.
