Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, who is also the Governor of Rivers State, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, was among six governors that were not at the Peoples Democratic Party Governors' Forum meeting, which was held in Abuja on Monday night.

Also absent were governors Sule Lamido (Jigawa); Dr. Babangida Aliyu (Niger); Seidu Dakingari (Kebbi); Aliyu Wamako (Sokoto); Musa Kwakwanso(Kano) and Sulivan Chime).

Eight other governors, who were not at the meeting, sent their deputies unlike the six absentee governors.

Seven governors and an acting governor(Taraba State), were also in attendance.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the party, Chief Tony Anenih, was also at the meeting.

Anenih was accompanied by the Secretary of the Board, Sen. Walid Jibril and a former Governor of old Anambra State, Chief Jim Nwobodo.

A former President of the Senate, Chief Ken Nnamani, was also at the meeting, which was held at Akwa Ibom Governor's Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja.

The refusal of Amaechi to attend the meeting might not be unconnected with the reported plans by the Presidency to remove him as the chairman of the NGF.

The Presidency is believed to be using some governors to remove Amaechi, believing that he was not working with the move to return President Goodluck Jonathan to power in 2015.

Shame on PDP, Shame on Gej this reminds me of the proverb " you can drag the donkey to the river but you cannot force it to drink"

Slowly but surely the criminal party is crumbling

While oppositions are wooing more people to their folds. GEJ the inexperienced captain is using over ambition to scatter the PDP ad losing very important play maker that he will need come 2015. Even a dead Obasanjo is still powerful in the present Nigeria than GEJ but he has erred the baba alongside all the southwest pdp. Now his next neighbour (rivers state) that is a strong power player in SS politics is at logger heads with him not to talk of most northern states power players.
Let's wait and see sha.

let them decamp and go. the pdp does not need two-faced idi0ts. they cant attend an ordinary party bloc meeting which puts a question mark over their loyalty.

I think the major issue between Governor Amaechi and the President is not just about 2015 but also about radical opposition of Amaechi to most of the programmes and policies of the President. A case in point is the Sovereign Wealth Fund.

I have never heard of any member of ACN oppose any official stand of the leaders of the party. But with the PDP, the greatest opposition to the President are the same members of the PDP (either governors, legislators, etc)

Opposition to the president does not signify integrity and love for Nigeria. It is simply power play.
Check the list of those who did not attend the meeting and see their geopolitical zones. With exception of Amechi, the rest are from the North. There is more to it than meets the eye.

Besides, do you think that the problem of Nigeria is the acronym PDP?
Perhaps, if Chris Uba will join the maja (emm, sorry, mega) party, then he too will become a great Nigerian?

Time will tell.

I don't think there is any reason to count chime Sulivan among those governors that shunned the meeting because his absence is understandable which is base on his health and also away from nigeria.

How does one expect GEJ to perform when everything that concerns him is 2015 and nothing else.

Bros, it is only a second term.

It is not 3rd like that of OBJ ( not minding that OBJ did his "intro" term as a military Head of State).
