SWIDA is a rebranded fansidar from d company Swipha, its a sulphur containing antimalarial drug,d fact u re having a rash means u react 2 sulphur containing drugs,a reaction we call Steven-Johnson syndrome.Immunosuppression as in HIV infected patient taking sulphur containin drugs lyk septrin also come down with SJS.I believe d rash u re having is hypopigmented(like fire burn)?what u do first is to STOP the drug, then take tabs prednisolone 5mg bd.u can apply topical Demaplus tds on d region of the rash.lastly nd most importantly,go to d nearest hospital 2 see a doctor(ur case is a systemic hypersensitivity reaction, not just topical)u'll be requested to do an HIV test, den other assessment'll be done nd treatment depending on the severity.Wish u speedy recovery! |
