The Honourable Minister of Education, Professor Ruqayyatu Ahmed Rufa’i, OON, on Thursday, 13 June, 2013, presented the scorecard of the Ministry covering the last two years, at the 2013 Ministerial Platform/Scorecard of the Mid-Term Report of the present administration. Welcoming participants to the event, which was held at the Federal Ministry of Information, Radio House, Abuja, the Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku, acknowledged the transformation efforts of the Ministry of Education, which included the establishment of more than 100 Almajiri schools in Northern Nigeria and the provision of funds, by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), for projects in various institutions of higher learning. In her presentation, the Minister of Education, who said her Ministry had already presented its mid-term reports to the President, conveyed the Federal Government’s desire and commitment to the restoration of the education sector.
