Skids don’t just happen, they are caused by: [/b] 1. Harsh braking on a slippery surface. 2. Braking whilst on a curve surface. 3. Steering and accelerating too harshly into a turn. [b]Then what will you do if you run into skip? • Remove the cause by taking your foot off the brake or accelerator whichever it was on. • Try to steer smoothly in the direction of the skid, i.e. in the direction in which the rear of the car is sliding. E.g. if the rear of the car skids to the right, steer quickly to the right to recover but don’t overdo it. • Remember, the faster you drive, the quicker you will need to react.
