The youth wing of the People’s Democratic Party in Ekiti has urged young people in the state to vote for all candidates of the party in the upcoming elections as this will enable them to easily access the transformation agendas of President Goodluck Jonathans' administration at the grassroots most especially the youth development programmes.

In the statement signed by Mr Babatunde Oyedele, a National youth stakeholder in the party,the group said; “the creation of Federal University of Oye-Ekiti is a remarkable transformation agenda in Education to make Ekiti State have their own Federal university while giving Ekiti youths access to qualities education”.

President Jonathan has shown Nigerian youths represent the future, building rocks and are tourch-bearers and they will be used to build the future of Nigeria, which is why he has made youths the priority of his administration. This has been shown in youth empowerment programmes, job creation, employment, education, agriculture, communication and technology. The Graduate Internship Scheme (GIS) is remarkable transformation agenda by President Jonathan administration to prepared unemployed graduates for employment.

Micro, small and medium enterprises are the engine of economic growth, back-bone and for promoting equitable development of a strong economy, which is why this administration has implemented various empowerment programmes for the youths. The focus of this government on youth empowerment is a distinct opportunity offer to Nigerian youths to create wealth for themselves and contribute to the economy of the country. We strongly advise Ekiti youths to take advantage of this empowerment programmes to help secured our future.

It’s unfortunate the immediate past government of the state All Progressive Congress (APC) could politicize and deny most of these programmes from Ekiti youths.

Adding to the employment and empowerment programmes of Governor Ayo Fayose for Ekiti youths and the commitment of the Governor to increase the state employment slot of youths into Federal civil services, State civil service and private sector, Ekiti youths have the best opportunity of getting their ideal jobs and to be empowered to the best global practice.

The vote for President Jonathan of People’s Democratic Party, will be the smartest choice that will make Ekiti youths easily access transformation agenda in the grassroots while voting for the party’s Senators, Federal House of Representatives and state of house of assembly candidates in their respective constituencies to create conducive environment for Governor Fayose to amplify transformation initiatives to the grassroots.

The group advised, “If you have not been well informed with the transformation agendas, kindly look for a PDP ward in your area to guide you. As a young Nigerian, unemployed, employed or student, the best opportunity to take Nigeria to the next level and secured our future is voting for people’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the coming elections”.
