Cases of Child abuse and neglect are far too common within our communities. The sad thing is that the victims in our society never speak up because of fear or stigma. Children are the some of the most vulnerable members of our society mainly because of their dependence on others to get their needs met. And sadly, in the majority of cases, the adults that children depend on are the ones responsible for abusing them.
Physical abuse is an injury deliberately inflicted upon a child by any person, including adults. Physical abuse includes fractured or broken bones, burns, severe or frequent bruises, and any other major physical harm. If such signs and damages are noticed on a child, endeavour to report to the appropriate authority.
Physicals abuse is usually identified by physical marks on the child’s body, but children can also suffer emotional damage from abuse. Emotional signs of an abused child includes afraid to go home, frightened of parents and fear of other adults.

Parents, teachers and adult avoid physical abuse in the name of correcting children, or helps. The effect of such abuses destroys the lives of these children. Let’s protect every child we see around us from abuse.
