Even so. . . if Liverpool somehow conjure up a stunner at the Bridge, Utd, Porto, Arsenal, Villareal or Barca could still go on to win it. I don't believe in these patterns though - it's similar to the 'defending champions always get eliminated in the second round'. Man Utd has already defied that this year, so eliminating Real by itself is not enough to judge the possible destination of the trophy. |

These two days have not only come with shocking suprises but may have made JM look pretty small. Yesterday's Porto game showed what Porto can continue to do without the special one. Perhaps if Porto goes ahead to eliminate ManU we may just get a new "special one". Our match today was a breath taker, really. Ivanovich of all people scoring two goals and Didier the monster Drogba increasing the tally. Beautiful game by Chelsea. We were totally outstanding. Ivanovich is definitely the man of the match. |

Liverpool win 3-0 at the Bridge? Is that a suicide mission or what? NOBODY wins 2-0 at the Bridge, much less 3, besides, Rafa does not know how to set up a team to attack. Thats why he cannot break Middlesbrough down. His teams only win on counter-attack - and he will get no such chance at SB cos the onus is on him to attack, not Guus. If he tries it, we will just kill them on the counterattack like we did last night when we could have scored 2 extra goals in the dying minutes. Liverpool is finished, and I will enjoy rubbing it in their faces. Barca is also finished. Forget story. A Bayern team with Breno and Demichelis playing centre-back will always struggle. Plus Klose was missing. Barca didn't do anything that Wolfsburg didnt do at the weekend. They just dispatched a porous Klinsmann team. Klinsmann teams are always porous and bare no comparison to a pachydermous Chelsea. Afterall, the same people yarning now are those who were raving when Pool hammered Madrid 4-0 - and look what we did to them! Barca cannot stand Chelsea's fire. They will be dominated physically and psychologically. Infact, we have a very easy draw there. Rome, here we come. @ Nateevs, Essien was simply splendid - but you know its only a one-off for him at DM. He rose to the occassion and took the opportunity to make his name by swatting Gerrard aside. I doubt he would keep his discipline in less hostile grounds than Anfield and against lesser players than Gerrard. Essien is simply a beast and should not be restrained at DM! |

You are definitely over-excited. Barcelona will destroy you if you tried what you did with Liverpool. Unlike Liverpool who can only hurt you with Gerrard and Torres, Barca can hit with Iniesta, Xavi, Messi, Eto'o and Henry, with Busquets/Keita and Yaya T posessing enough physicality in the middle to match anything Ballack and Essien can bring. Liverpool was suicidal yesterday. The goals they had been scoring deceived Benitez, and he failed to play to his teams basic strength - defensive cohesiveness and went gung-ho. He completely blew it tactically, which has always been the crucial part of Benitez' game and became overconfident. What is so solid about a Chelski side that lost 1-0 to Spurs?? Y'all now think because of one superlative performance that the world is at your feet? Even beating Newcastle was more down to their calamitous defending than anything else. Make no mistake about it - assuming you get past Liverpool, Barca will be a massive test. |

@ Adeballz, Dont you think Barca are running scared after hearing of our result last night? A 3-1 victory at Anfield is much better than a 4-0 home victory against a severely depleted Bayern side. Liverpool is the terror of all Spanish teams, be that Barca or Madrid. Barca are pissing themselves right now. Speaking of physicality, Yaya Toure has no physicality to speak of. The dude is inert. The only Barca midfielder who has a physicality to match Chelsea is Keita. The only other person I fear from a physical standpoint is the human hyena, Dani Alves and the indomitable Samuel Eto. Watch Messi cop an injury before the semi-final. |

Ibime I quite enjoy how you guys zapped Liverpool back to reality but that was only down to one thing, There attack was completely halted. There was no way for there 4-3-2-1 frmation yesterday Essien unlike him just stuck to Gerard and snuffed the game off him Hence, Torres was starved, Arbeloa due to the attack coming from Malouda and Cole was stuck back. Skrtel was just moping. Carragher went aghast But i love the way Gerard was disciplined!! It shows Liverpool is just a one way team. They had a tepid time defending corner kicks. They say that once beaten is twice shy but they re-wrote that saying yesterday. Terrible marking gifted Ivanovic those two goals. His doing it before should have alerted them to keep an eye on him But just like Debo said, Barca will not be a tea party 5 players can hurt you in Barca. Xavi, Iniesta, Eto'o, Henry, and the [b]Messi[/b]less of them all So just watch. The secret is doing what Man U did last season. Defend collectively.
