Has anyone noticed that the new Kellogg's cornflakes selling in the UK has Nafdac number? Check any of the stores near you. . . .Tesco, Asda Sainbury's etc

Check just above the bar code and see the Nafdac number

Was shocked and wondering why made for sale in UK products carry our own dear Naija Nafdac number.

Is it the same in other countries too?

Does anyone know why?

Hehe, now that would be funny.
For how long has it been? It could be an excess batch originally meant for Nigeria.

This is true Ma Kellogg's special(K special) has PIN K103786034, NAFDAC REG, NO 01-6895

Was it make for Nigerian market? Did they import from Nigeria? Do NAFDAC approve b4 they market in UK?

Pls i need answers to these questions.

I think you may be missing the point a bit. From what I can see in front of me, it appears the actual product was made in the UK. Since it is a universal product - i.e do not need a modification for outside market, it do not matter where it is made I would think.

If I remember correctly, the NAFDAC rules requires registered product to carry that I.D number on their product packaging right? Hence that, nay explain why it is present on the pack.

I think it just because we a major consumer and it easier for them to put NAFDAC number on all product since a substantial  percentage goes to Nigeria other than printing a different package for Nigeria

Okay, I have plenty of time this morning and I took the massive challenge of ringing them up on 0800 626066 [ a free phone number within UK]. Anyway, the explanation I gave before was the answer!

"It allows us to sell the same product abroad without much modification to existing pack." was what she said.

does it mean that the products they ship to diff countries goes with NAFDAC NO as well?

Major consumer of what deor03? Kelloggs or Garri?
