Members of the Islamist militant group (Isis)
StarrFMonline.com investigations have revealed that potential Isis recruits in Ghana hold regular meetings at a specific house around Palm Wine Junction in Accra.

The meetings often take place on Fridays and Wednesdays. The potential recruits also, occasionally, meet on weekends, sources familiar with their operations have told StarrFMonline.com.

The revelations come on the back of reports that a Ghanaian, Nazir Nortei Alema, has joined the Islamist militant group.

The 25-year- old graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), according to the Daily Guide Newspaper, has thrown his family into a health-threatening stress, as he is reported to have joined the bloodthirsty group in Iraq and Syria.

With a degree in Geography and Rural Development, he is one of the 10 suspected Muslim youth from Ghana who have finally taken the decision to join the terrorist grouping, whose stock-in-trade is public beheading of their opponents or those they regard as infidels.

His father,Abdul Latif Alema , has also confirmed that his son has been having meetings with his colleagues who are also potential recruits at a hideout near the Palm wine Junction at Labadi in Accra.

Meanwhile, the National Security has begun investigations into the matter.

A security analyst, Prosper Nii Nartey Addo has charged the National Security outfit to up their game, especially at the borders to ensure greater security for the citizenry.

Speaking at the back of reports that a Ghanaian, Nazir Nortei Alema, has joined the Islamist militant group Islamic State in Iraq and Lebanon (ISIS), Nii Nartey Addo indicated that security in the country has been compromised for a very long time and it is time the various security agencies paid more attention to the security challenges.

"This issue of recruitment into the islamist state is very dangerous and to the extent of recruiting our own people means the security systems in our country have been left unattended to. Though everyone needs to contribute to the protection of the youth, the national security as a body needs to be more vigilant else we will be thrown into a state of chaos” he said.

The decision of the 25-year- old graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has thrown his family into a health-threatening stress, as he is reported to have joined the bloodthirsty group in Iraq and Syria.

With a degree in Geography and Rural Development, Nazir Nortei Alema is one of the 10 suspected Muslim youth from Ghana who have taken the decision to join the terrorist grouping, whose stock-in-trade is public beheading of their opponents or those they regard as infidels.

His father,Abdul Latif Alema , who confirmed the decision on Adom FM’s morning show ‘Dwaso Nsem’ Tuesday said the family is now in a state of mourning because they have no idea what might happen to their son.

Though, the National Security office has begun investigations into the matter, the security analyst on Adom FM’s morning show ‘ Dwaso Nsem’ Wednesday blamed the national security outfit for situation.

“Yes, the national security is reportedly investigating the issue. But why should they always allow problems to emerge before taking a decision” he quizzed.

According to him, unbearable hardships on Muslim youth at the tertiary level makes them vulnerable to the lure of religious extremism.

Prosper Nii Nartey Addo advised Muslim parents to be watchful of the activities of their wards since they have always been the target of recruiters.
