Anyways from the link I posted which was raptured, let me give a summary of the important points...it could help mums preparing for visa interviews. According to the VO who wrote the article: 1) Applicants should stop insisting on showing documents because while certain documents are necessary for visa application for a lot of other countries, for the US visa interview it eats a lot of time. Thus because VOs do not have much time to make a decision, insisting and encouraging them to looknay letters and documents can impede an applicant's chances. 2) Applicants who refuse to give detailed answers really hurt their case and make the experience less enjoyable for the officer. Examples of conversations they enjoy include hearing about a student’s future plans, a proud grandfather going to see his grandchildren, or a brilliant doctor explain the presentation that she will deliver at a conference. Applicants should focus on explaining their interest in visiting our country and what connects them to Nigeria. VOs have very little time to make a decision and since the burden of proof is on the applicants to prove that they are qualified for the visa, it is best to engage in a conversation with us. 3) Applicants should understand the process and stop listening to bad information as well as presenting fraudulent documents. VOs want to learn more about your specific situation, so a visa package that you purchase and that provides identical details for other applicants does not represent who you truly are. No one can help get a visa but one's self. 4)VOs do not enjoy refusing visas. Each took a solemn oath to uphold U.S. immigration law and if an applicant does not meet the requirements for a visa, the attendant VO must refuse the application, no matter how much he/she like the applicant. Vos often get together to talk about the brightest applicants of the day and lament the difficult cases. And according to the VO who wrote the article, "I feel horribly every time I refuse a visa for a good, hard-working person because they do not meet the requirements. The thrill that I get is out of issuing visas, not refusing them." The VI concluded with "people often believe that, in order to get a U.S. visa, they have to tell the story that they think we want to hear. The only story that we want to hear is the true story about you." Hope this does help someone... http://usembassynigeria..co.uk/2016/03/non-immigrant-visas-consular-officers.html?m=1 3 Likes 1 Share |

Let me answer Comfortina. I think she really asked an honest question, I do not detect any sarcasm in her post. Life is a matter of perspectives. Now to put things in perspective, let me start by saying my Maternal grandmother had 6 girls. One of them died from childbirth complications, the baby also died. One is 60 with no child and had two still births and one infant death, that makes 3 pregnancies. Another one is in her mid forties, she had twins which died after the hospital she registered in said they couldn't do CS. She herself is a twin. Her twin sister had two still births before a live one. 5days after the lifebirth, we realised she was incontinent. We took her to a specialist who had to perform another surgery to repair her bladder which had mistakenly been cut during the CS. It was my brother and I (teenagers) that were taking care of the new born while my Mum stayed with her in the hospital. She suffered mehn! Till date, she hasn't been able to carry another pregnancy to term. Please can anybody help me count the number of dead children in my family and tell me the probability of such a high mortality rate if all 6 of my grandmother's girls lived in America? About taxes, it's the children's choice, if they choose to settle in America they will pay their tax there. On double taxation, if you pay 20 percent here and 30 percent is your tax band in the US, it does not mean that you will pay 50 percent of your income as tax, there is a way it's calculated depending on the tax regime of the countries concerned. I will not be able to go into a lengthy explanation of that. On the education, am wondering if you attended any of these federal universities you are talking about? My brother is attending a university abroad and when I help him look at his assignments I see that the difference between education here and there is like the distance between heaven and earth. Seriously, you get what you pay for. Is it the sexual harassment you want to talk about or the countles strikes? Missing results or gross inefficiency? Point of correction, grants are not paid back, it's student loans that have to be repaid and education in US is much cheaper for a citizen than an international student. Our problem is systemic. My next question to you Comfortina: with all due respect, have you been to America? Because as you are asking for the benefits of being the citizen of a country where the system works.....Even to shop is easy, I wonder how many times I need to pick something from the market after work and my first headache would be 'where will I park?' Then 'how will I lug my little one in the market?' You can tell me there are malls but none of them is on my way. To go to common Yaba for bedspread or curtain sef na headache because of all the guys that will pull your arms asking you to patronize them. Please, if we can afford it we shall give our kids the opportunity of having a choice of where they want to live. If I had one I am not sure I will be here. Just that I cannot live in obodo oyinbo as an illegal immigrant. However, first and foremost for me is the healthcare, I cannot come and allow one useless hospital give the people chasing my life negative home support with poor resources and negligent nurses that insult patients. comfortina: 37 Likes 2 Shares |

Hi mamas in the house. Happy Easter. I am working on reapplying for my visa as I was denied some weeks back. Is there a way I can book a refundable flight for my travel which shud be in June, so that if I'm given d visa I won't pay for travel through my teeth cos it's summer time n I hear fares are more expensive. |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by Nobody: 11:31am On Mar 25, 2016 |
princessbee:hi dear no need to book ticket when you haven't gotten visa even the V.O's don't advice that, just repackage yourself and work on what you felt were the past errors in your previous application that got you denied and pray to meet a better v.o and God will surprise you, cheers |
