The heavy rainfall witnessed in Lagos not long ago destroyed things in my house. The flood entered my car to the gear level! Now the electrician said that the brain box is damaged. I can't afford a replacement now and I am not even sure if the rewire is right. Any suggestion someone? |

Ebukahimself: Electrician is mostlikely right. Take out the engine Ecu and clean the circuits with contact cleaner. |

Ebukahimself: ECU means Engine Control Unit and it is also known as ECM (Engine Control Module). For Accord, it is located in between the driver and front passenger seat, under the dash. The pic below is an ECU/ECM contact points.  |

Next time there's a flood, you should disconnect the terminals of your car battery ASAP & leave the vehicle to dry out completely for at least a day before reconnecting the battery. Water is a conductor, so it can bridge your brain box & other electronics thereby damaging them. |
