A 40-year-old bus driver, Moshood Ekunsumi, has been arrested for murdering a police inspector, Stephen Nzerem, on the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway.

The suspect’s conductor has also been declared wanted by the Nigerian Police Force in connection with the death.

Ekunsumi, a father of three, plied the Airport Road beat and had only just returned to duty.

He flagged down the bus along the road, but Ekunsumi sped up and drove off.

The deceased office was said to have jumped onto the vehicle to apprehend the driver.

Ekunsumi continued to drive and even speeded up when another vehicle crossed his path and he stepped on the brake pedal.
