Don't fall for some of these unverified reports . Most of those peddling fake news may be out to tarnish her image because the ministry they assigned them to may not be a juicy one. You will think some of these P.S love Nigeria but they are only after their pockets

Well the proof is there and one of the perm secs spoke out. If she can openly flout the Presidents directives then she should be relieved of her position. She’s not in that position to make such decisions.

they don't import cassava, but they use other imported things like vehicles, fuel, drugs, solar panels, armored cables, electronics, power plants, graters, etc etc.. and these things are all affected by dollar

If garri sellers don't increase their own goods and say leave it at 300 per paint because na them love Nigeria pass.. they will not be able to afford common antibiotics talkless of anti hypertensives and anti diabetic drugs for the challenged among them

Hope this helps

Most of them use local processors. Where is the light for them to use all these things? Most of the people that supply the market Garri are village women. This is Nigerian market sellers simply profiting and using dollar as an excuse. I know what I am saying.

Igbos are known all over NIGERIA to take strong decisions unlike the Yorubas.

Yorubas are naturally shaky and slippery in taking strong decisions.

Do you remember Major Kaduna Nzeogwu for the killing of the Saduna of Sokoto?

Do you remember Dora Akunyeli for her presentation of the Doctrine of Necessity at the federal executive council over Yardua's health to save NIGERIA.

Do you remember General Ihejirika's brutally to the BOKO HARAM group and Bandits during his command as the chief of army staff, that even northern elders including Buhari petitioned the CCJ for his actions against their people.

Do you remember Prof. Nnenna Oti who declared Abia State results even after all the harassment and threats to her life and she never gave in. But the same thing happened in Ekiti state some years again but the Yoruba woman fumbled and announced the election to the disappointment of the whole world.

Obi you are talking about replaced his commissioner of police six good times to keep Anambra calm because of the activities of IPOB members and hoodlums.

I don't want to mention Nyeso Wike but you can do that yourself.

I can go on and on but let me stop here, IGBOS are naturally Resolute and Strategically stubborn when they want to get things done not minding the consequences.
Igbos are not known for all these things in Nigeria. Stop lying and go and rest. Obi lost. It’s over for Obi.

Obi’s commissioner of Police is currently on the run and has disappeared. He is wanted for the extrajudicial murder of many young and able bodied Anambra men. If Obi was president, I am not sure you will be able to come online and criticize him. Your body will end up in Ezu river.

Now you can see my point. You cannot steal much without exchanging naira to dollar.
A governor can award a contract in naira...then get his proceeds of corruption in dollars through the contractor. So effc will go after a businessman who is importing construction materials and equipments?
A lot of contractors do pay the bribe in Dollars. Also last and previous administrations corrupt politicians had access to CBN vaults and the dollars. So to launder the money they provide it to BDC. Change some to naira and use their naira loot to exchange to dollar. Remember the naira loot is just stolen so it’s no loss to them. Now, increased scrutiny on these cash movements, thr unstable exchange has made them pull back.

So that guy had how many months in 2023 to do his or her work? At this current time I do not think salary should be delayed. Tinubu really need to work on setting a tone so everyone will be on their toes. This is bad no matter how you see it and it should not happen. Don’t let saboteurs destroy your government.

Can you reminisce how much dollars given to Dangote through the backdoor?

They can’t effectively move with their loot through the banks to the BDC’s. Also, Dangote will not sell to BDC. The people that do are the thieves in government laundering the dollars they have stolen. The money given to Dangote at a lower rate is a problem. I agree with you.

You have no shame or the ability to self reflect but come online to show your grand stupidity to laugh at an issue that you are a major problem creator. when we say y'all are not deep thinkers it will seem like insult, when it isn't.

If you are in the garri value chain as a farmer or distributor you will sell cheap cos you don't import cassava abi? Let's even say you don't recognize some of the fertilizer used is imported, as a farmer or distributor will you only eat garri, or you will also go to the market to buy rice, beans, meat? Are the prices of those ones also cheap? personal transport costs nko, cheap? Your children school fees nko, cheap? Your rent nko, cheap? Clothing and shoes nko, cheap? Peradventure the person come get dreams to buy generator, or fridge or television, all those things nko, cheap?

Thinking deep is easy o, all you have to do is not stay on surface level.

Here is a guide that can help you in future... you ask yourself, how much deeper can I think this thing through?
You are dumb. You think everybody is like you that does not understand the flow of the food chain? Fertilizer has not increased that much for Garri to go up that much.

Peter that in his state could not pay salary but embezzled they money into his daughter offshore accounts while people in the state died of hunger. If Peter was President, if you see salary you should be grateful..

Politics / Re: CBN Orders Banks To Sell Excess Dollars In 24 Hours by 2mch(m): 3:17am On Feb 01
This is ridiculous. Why not store the excess dollars if they have them in a central depository, with the CBN as regulator? While the banks can order their dollars if there is a shortfall in requirements. Also ensure banks report to CBN sales of dollars after a certain threshold per customer daily in banks. Anything over 10k dollars should be reported and tracked. This will prevent them from indiscriminate selling dollars to black marketers and also keep track of their es and money launderers.

I don’t agree at all with asking them to sell off all their dollar. The CBN and Nigeria even need that money.

You are putting a square peg in a round hole. The only thing that can sustain the economy is forex. Give more jobs, more exports and more USD inflows. Banks should be flooded with USD. That's the only way to sustain the economy and not ban Currency speculators.

No serious country in this world allows currency speculators. All of them are still thriving in Nigeria. That is a problem. A very big one. Nigeria problem is multifaceted but this is one of them. By the way, exports will only increase if they ban a lot of imports. For an import dependent country will you be able to survive such a ban You people will be online crying of hunger. Such decisions require a lot of hardship especially if people have been importing for years.

That if banks have enough and willing to give you.
There is scarcity of forex.
Banks are the ones providing BDC’s with connect for FX because they can also make money from the sabotage. They are all cashing out. They get it cheap and sell high. If FG is not willing to stamp on that hard, we are not ready at all.

If everyone looking to sell is depositing in the bank, the banks will have enough when BDC no longer exist.

They need to pass a law making BDC’s and other currency speculators illegal. Only banks at official rate can and should issue exchange. Otherwise they are just t playing here. Also, platforms that have made money through such sabotage should be raided and their money confiscated for sabotage. You can’t try this in any first world country, speculate against their currency and go free. They will cripple you to the 10th generation and you will spend a long time in prison.

I love your rational submission devoid of unwarranted invectives.

In January this year, the CBN cleared 2billion dollars of FX backlog out of an estimated 7 billion, the fall out is the precarious situation we now find ourselves; a plummeting naira and multinationals divesting from our market.

The solution to our economic woes is hydra headed and multifaceted.
Paying "Gbese" alone and not tackling insecurity, high cost of doing business, multiple taxations, etc etc, is akin to only scratching the surface.

It will be worse if our debts are not settled. In fact it will tack on interest and severely affect out image. This is the right thing to do. Nigeria has been severely damaged, sabotaged and looted for over 20yrs. That damage can not be turned around in one year. It will take time. A lot of the companies that left have left because they lost confidence in Nigeria unstable and lootocrazy environment. With their money stuck in Nigeria. Not because of the policies to reinstate investor confidence. This will go a long way.

When people steal billions and get away with it, the suffering we are seeing now is a cumulative effect of all that theft. There is no sea of money anywhere. Any one naira that is successfully looted, we will all pay for it. A thief that successfully escapes is a threat to the survival of everyone. Until Nigerians understand that, our country can never change.

SpoIls oF war or spoils of theft? It’s like a thief forces themselves into your house blowing the door open with RPG, steals everything then when he’s caught. Claims the only way you get it back is by loaning it. When was Ghana ever at war with UK? Abi UK travelled all the way from their barren land to come and kill, steal and destroy.

If Ghana pay anything or return that beautiful crown then they are fools. It’s even finer than the rubbish their royals wear.

Wicked people don’t care as long as it’s not them. If you put yourself in others shoes before you take actions understanding that you can fall into the same trap, people will not do a lot of wicked and evil things.
