Yesterday, I was able to see leicester-city-fc and Iheanacho. I noticed Iheanacho's confidence level is very low and I think he has come to the reality that he is in an average team, that described his frustrations when his teammates made poor decisions. He has to admit and come to the reality that he has no choice than to adapt to the system and the way his teammates play else he will not get favor from his teammates and coach(ask Musa). He needs to admit there are no Aguero, Silver, Yaya or any quality players of Manchester City caliber in his current team. However, even if a team is poor, a good player will still show flashes of his talent to distinguish himself from others but that was not the case yesterday after seeing Iheanacho played. Obviously, there were some things missing in his game. I. Poor ball control II, his touches were too heavy and poor IiI, his cruise control are poor Vi, low confidence V, his average passes (was surprised he wasn't given through passes, it was unlike of him) Therefore, I am adjoining him to take note of these deficiencies and work on them. Hopefully, he can adapt and come good. 2 Likes |

TheGoodJoe: We are talking Nigeria playing a top team like Brazil. There is no way we can match them. You cannot play a top team like Brazil or Barcelona and come all out attacking. The score-line will be so humiliating. You cannot setup your team to do all attack in every game. Tactics for each games depends a lot on the strength of your opposition. Which selections are you even talking about? Call the names of players that have not been selected yet and lets see if they are worthy of selection. 1 Like |

Icon4s: For start, Aluko has a lot to contribute to our team offensively and creatively. If not Pepe Mel giving Uzoho a chance, you will not agree such a player deserves a shot. By the way, no one says we should go all out attack on Brazil but play in a more offensive fashion. |

TheGoodJoe: So only Aluko's inclusion will just automatically transform the team into a very offensive one. So because Pepe tried Uzoho in a league game Rohr should have tried him in any of qualifiers? Talking about Brazil "play in a more offensive fashion" than.......?? 2 Likes |

Icon4s: Stop twisting the clear point I am making. Invite to camp is not trying in qualifiers. You obviously know the difference. So why feign ignorance? As it stands, we do not know our best shot stoppers because we have not done a proper screening process. I remember how you backed and fought against changing Akpeyi until a foreigner had to come and carry out a screening process amongst the lot and Akpeyi lost his place. Without a proper screening and selection process, we will keep selling our self short. We can play more offensively than we are doing now with a better attacking set-up. |

Kelechi Nwakali and Victor Osimhen wey failed in there U20 exams, na em you wan take compare Ajagun wey pass U17 and U20 test wella even as a captain? Thank God you are not in charge of his career else Ajagun wouldn't have played for the biggest club in Greece and now in Belgium constant. Your Kelechi Nwakali and Victor Osimhen have both done nothing worthy of note to be compared with Ajagun who had done enough for both country and clubs so far, and they have virtually done nothing worthy of note deserving to be invited to the national team. If there is any, tell me, what have dey done to be compared with Ajagun or to have merited a call to the national team? My friend, National team is opened to 'ANY NIGERIAN PLAYER DOING WELL ABROAD'. Don't come here and start bringing down players to exalt and exaggerate players we know are still finding their foots in Europe. We fit manage dem in the U20 were dem never pass common U20 exams. in an ideal world if we had the players of spain's caliber yes we would look to play possession based expanse football but let's not kid ourselves as at today we don't have those kind of players and if we do there are currently not yet mature to join the senior national team set up. why i say not ready it would mean years extensive grassroots development to get the kind of players who would give you the kind of football you dream. spain that you mentioned it took years of trial and error, plus and minus before they got to their current. nigeria currently we have players who can give you the technical stuff but we don't yet have enough players who can give you that kind of football consistently to that high level. you can bring lopetegui, guardiola or resurrect johan cruff to come coach us they still won't be able to transform us to attacking beasts over night based on the quality of players we have. going into the world cup i expect rohr to build an effective counter attacking team. against lesser technical expansive teams like poland, russia, iran yes we would expect to dominate them but the truth is at the world cup we won't be facing too many technically poor teams. this counter attacking setup would work a peach against the english, portuguese, croatia and maybe the french. however against the brazils and germanys of this such tactics won't ultimately work except we play to the absolute max of our potential and also hope for a huge slice of luck to go our way TheGoodJoe: 2 Likes |

Not only that, they started propping up Shinji Okazaki once Iheanacho joins Leicester. It's like Okazaki suddenly became Leo Messi overnight! I honestly have no idea what the British pundits have against Nigerian players .... seriously! I have been watching them for years and it's always the same story with every Nigerian players: starting with Celestine Babayaro, to Kanu, Jay Jay, Martins, Mikel, etc etc. And in addition, I felt a little concerned when Nacho joined Leicester. That club has a very powerful clique and if you're not within the clique you won't play ..... and if the coach dare plays you, the players would start losing games. That's what happened to Ranieri. He was starting the "wrong players" (like Musa); hence, folks like Vardy, Mahrez, etc refused to give full effort to the team until the poor man lost his job. O pari femianski: |

TheGoodJoe: Firstly, Akpeyi lost his slot because he was injured ahead of the games against Cameroon. If he was in camp he would have kept goal. And not because one foreigner screened him out. Rohr even referred to Ezenwa as 4th choice and Akpeyi as 3rd choice even after the Cameroon game in Uyo. Get that right. Ezenwa got the opportunity and he ceased it. You don't change a winning team, Ezenwa had the momentum and confidence to go with it, why not stick with him. Ezenwa is not much different from Akpeyi. Emm but why was Alampasu dropped from the squad was it an aftermath of the foreigner's analysis on him? On Uzoho, you are not making any point. So because his coach tested him in a league game Rohr must also test him? Is he the only Nigerian goalie that has been tested in a league game? 2 Likes |

Nacho and his agents are to blame if he flops at Leicester. Why this guy would choose getting a British passport over playing in teams like Monaco and Hoffenheim where he'd been under world class coaches is baffling to me. He HAS to adapt his game as Leicester aren't clearly going to build the team around him when Vardy is around. Such a shame clubs like Southampton weren't in for him...it'd have been much better than playing in this Leicester team. To early to rule him out, but things aren't looking good for him. 2 Likes |

i think he meant 2009 U17 world cup. what he said about ajagun being overage is quite plausible. remember adosiye amesiemeka exposed the team captain fortune chukwudi of being an age cheat when he produced a picture of the guy in the feeders team of sharks of port harcourt. also the MRI scan process wasn't 100% then it was still random testing which ajagun could have avoided if someone like chukwudi could scale through. so all this performing you say he performed during U17 and U20 would be a case of an old man bullying small children like i have always asked what has ajagun done that makes him such a serious candidate for the super eagles? his club stats anywhere he has played are not exceptional. if like you always argue the NFF are deliberately ignoring him because of some phantom reasons why is it that no reasonable clubside has signed him? true talent always stands out no matter what forgiveness: 3 Likes |

TheGoodJoe: You think it is only the back four players that are involved in the defense? Against a superior opposition you need both wingers and midfielders as the first line of defense. This will only limit you to counter attacking style of play. It is not negative football. That is how to cope with a stronger opposition. TheGoodJoe, you know I have advised you on this before: That coaching book Joe Erico(or who was it) gave you is not enough. You need to enrol in a proper coaching school. You Honestly need. That is when you can appreciate the realities on ground. 2 Likes |

chrisooblog: Wilfred Ndidi failed MRI test. Alhassan failed MRI test, and so? Kenneth Omeruo was part of that Ajagun set, and so? Did that stop dem from excelling? Don't bring age cheat into this matter because all the best players we ever had were products of the same system but you singlehandedly pick out few as public examples while exonerate your beloved. Why? Stop your public point and kill castigation of players you don't like because they are not your type. I don't need to educate you on Ajagun exploit in the biggest club in Greece because your mind already biased against him. Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 2:41pm On Oct 17, 2017 |
Icon4s: My point is simple. We can play a more offensive set-up with a tweak in our selection. When you say using forwards (not midfielders) as the first line of defense, it depends on the set-up, whether offensive or conservative. The offensive set-up requires the forwards pressing to win the ball back. That is different from telling your forwards to sit deep (conservative). I am not against pressing. That is part of an offensive strategy. Watch what Klopp and Mourinho did. Klopp pressed making it difficult for Manchester United to keep the ball. In such instance, the forwards are also the first line of defence. While Manchester United cleared out and had sometimes all of their players sitting deep. That is negative play. To have a good offensive approach first starts with the the coach making a decision to play in an offensive manner. |

TheGoodJoe: Whether offensive or conservative, it depends on the strength of your team relative to that of your opposition. There are no strict rules on this one. We play a team like Togo we go all out offensive, we play a team like Brazil or Spain we go conservative. This is very simple. It also depends on the result you want to achieve. If you need to win your last group game to stay in a competition or If you need to win by aggregate scores, you come all out and score enough goals to surpass your opponents aggregate. After which you go conservative to protect your lead. That is how football is played. And not just attack, attack, attack and attack whether big or small opposition. 1 Like |
