The question really is who is better today. Onazi comes with WC experience. He is also young, but what is his current form? Who will partner Ndidi is the question. Ogu is also pretty good. Competition is a good thing. Rohr will decide who is best before Match time. Martz101: |

That’s the fun of discussion. Putting out different formations is a good thing. One person gets it right today, but gets it wrong tomorrow. If we were sure of what will happen or what is best we won’t be here in the first place. There is always room for surprises in football. elyte89: 3 Likes |

Joebie: Forget world Cup experience if you are good you are good, onazi is okay and he might start at the World Cup. But because someone has World Cup experience he must be at the World Cup? Make dem call back oboabona Na if na so. When Spain won the World Cup in 2010 if I can remember Sergio busquets and Gerard pique has no World Cup experience and they are solid and they played all minutes of the tournament. |

Onazi is in the team today based on merit. Oboabona has long fallen off the radar. Don’t talk out of context. mbjane: |

Joebie: I am not speaking out of context okay Yes onazi deserves to be in the team, but don't tell me because someone has World Cup experience he should be in a team,if you play well you deserve to be in the team and if you don't play well you don't deserve to be there so forget about this World Cup experience of a thing. |

Joebie: Good, if this boy knows what's good for him, he should remain in Spain even of OT means playing in Liga B, same with Imoh whom I expected a lot from. |

Joebie: Yea is a good thing we have options now, just imagine the 2014 situation, if Onazi goes off injured there is an Ogu, Etebo, even a shehu or a fit Joel coming in to do a good job unlike a Gabriel Ruben coming in. 1 Like 1 Share |

Joebie: Mikel remain our tried and tested AM, he has done very well in the qualifiers in that position and we won't change that in the main occasion. Iwobi for me might not a sure starter in our team, he can continue in the wings even if his starting and get to play the AM if Mikel is sub off or God forbid injured. Another situation might be Nigeria in need for goal against a less attacking team like Iceland, Onazi might come off for another attacking player and then have a double AM instead of a double DM |

With Ighalo scoring in China,Simy scoring for Crotone and Kayode for Shakhta, we no longer lack competition for the 9 position. 1 Like |

Joebie: Maybe the lyrics of the American Anthem will help you love it. And yes the Nigerian anthem will be so great with good symphony and orchestral accompaniment. I have heard a couple of such renditions. |

chrisooblog: Bros Chris I remember moses was our best player in 2013 nations cup but went hiding in the worldcup proper in 2014, his not been stable with the team and famously claimed to be injured after 90min performance with chelsea. Everyone that know Omerou very well before will laugh at you, the young kid that never put any foot wrong, played in the worldcup like a star but his less confident play of late will make you wonder if Omerou is actually an identical twins. Mikel and Onazi is the bedrock of Nigeria team, no wonder they are the captain and assistant, I won't want to enter into a long argument with you, maybe when I'm by this time tomorrow we can go own on it 1 Like |

Post Russia go sweet Nigeria Monaco’s Bid For Gent Samuel Kalu Threatens Interest From Hoffeinheim & Bayern Leverkusen French Ligue 1 side Monaco have tabled a bid for hot in demand Nigerian wing forward Samuel Kalu who currently plays for Belgium side Gent, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal. The bid from Monaco arrived at the start of the month but Gent are yet to respond to the bid as they are also mulling over interest from two German Bundesliga side in Hoffeinheim and Bayern Leverkusen. It is believed that the forward prefers a move to the German Bundesliga but the teams interested in his services are yet to follow up their interest with a bid, although that could happen in the summer. Monaco are however keen on wrapping up his signing as their bid is believed to be close to Gent’s valuation of the forward which is around the €20m mark. However Gent are wary of losing both Moses Simon and Kalu in the same window but a bidding war for the later could force them to have a rethink and consider letting go of the Nigerian duo. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Martz101: I Disagree strongly moving to Trabzonspor in Turkey is clearly not upwards progression but rather the contrary. You really should not be leaving Seria A, Lazio particularly after such a tremendous couple of seasons and going to the backwaters of the Turkish league. For goodness sake this was a guy on the radar of Tottenham and other EPL clubs at a time. |

Martz101:bro you forgot to note v.moses contributed largely to our successful world cup qualifying campaign Yes I agree kenneth has not been as consistent as his early years but I still think he was comparatively better I like onazi but truth be told he should do more so he can get back to the pre 2014 performance levels |

For your Tuesday Nuggets (enjoy): It was extraordinary. In the second half of the first leg, Real Madrid almost played with 10 men. Cristiano Ronaldo was so passive. But he epitomises Real Madrid. He doesn't need to do a lot, they don't need to do a lot, and they still find a way to win. Source: BBC.com O pari |

One more shot at the whole Messi v Ronaldo debate (*sorry guys, I have to ): 8 of Ronaldo's goals this season have come against Andorra (1), Faroe Islands (3) and Apoel Nicosia (4). Weakest International team faced by Messi was Venezuela. Weakest European team was Olympiakos. Of the current top 6 La Liga teams - Ronaldo has only scored against Valencia and Real Betis. Messi has scored against Atl. Madrid, RM, Betis & Villareal. Now, who's better O pari 1 Like |

Well it’s all about what the team needs. Personal preference of the player is secondary. As komekn rightly said you have to have a wide consideration of other players. Will the SE be stronger with Ebuehi as RB and Shehu partnering Ndidi? And yes, the strength or weakness of our opponent can also determine the kind of changes we would make. Most importantly it’s alsays good to have a considerable number of versatile players. And I mean they have to be really good playing two or more positions. Martz101: |
