It is atrocious watching the so called "World class" or "Top class" Goalkeepers conceding avoidable plenty goals at this knockout stage of the Uefa Champions League. One would expect that the very best keepers in world football presently will atleast keep the scorelines reasonably low. But alas, what do we see,?...we see scandalous scoreline like 5-2, 4-2, 2-2, 1-2, 3-0, 1-3,4-1 and 3-0. Ter stegan conceded 4 goals over two legs, Navas conceded 6 goals in 4 matches, Ultriech conceded 4 in two legs, karius conceded 6 over two legs while the so called exceptional Alison conceded a whooping 11 goals in 4 matches.... I can bet my left balls that if our young, inspiring Uzoho had kept any of these games, he would probably had been put on the slaughterhouse in this thread.... SMH!! If stegan, Ultriech, Alison, Navas, karius playing among their mates could not keep the scorelines low,... Then what miracle do we expect uzoho to produce?.... I ask because it seems like we have placed a ridiculously high demands on his shoulders, expecting him to perform even better than his seniors when among his mates he has done very well and keeping almost more than 9 clean sheets. Even when called upon to man the post among his seniors, he has not done badly conceding only 2 goals in three matches. I think its high time we left the young man alone and begin to believe in his abilities else I will assume that we too have begun to judge our brothers through the prism of the white man,... I will assume we have become belligerent, and insatiable with our expectations I am specifically passing this message across to Mujtahida, O pari master, egbon kog45, egbon forgiveness, Joebie who castigated Uzoho to abyss since the day his club videos surfaced here,.. and even our dear tbaba1234 who with his little experience in amateur goalkeeping should have known better that as a young keeper, you can easily learn and grow unlike an already established Goalkeeper. 17 Likes 2 Shares |

The day I called Allison over rated, some people here came for my head so much so that someone said Allison was the Messi of the goalkeeping department. And that Liverpool was after him to come solve their goalkeeping problems. But over these two legs, Karius showed who the better goalkeeper is even with some horrible defenders but van Dijk, in front of him unlike Allison who had the Gonalons, Manolas, Florenzis and Kolarov of this world in front of him. 11 goals in 4 matches. To those that doubted me that day, breeze dun blow ooo 2 Likes 1 Share |

realpoacher: I believe Uzoho will become a top class keeper but i am worried that this WC is too early. My position is not about his potential, it is about whether he is ready for the WC now.. As we have seen, errors by goalkeepers at the highest level of football will get punished. It is easier to get away with lapses in lower levels of football. Rohr recognizes this and that is why he has sent the GK coach to help Uzoho polish his weaknesses. |

Yes... And that is great news. ANS implied that in their six weeks report shaa... They said he will be put for four weeks and will need two extra weeks to be fully making it six... But like Icon79 said, Ndidi is out for 3-4 weeks with the time after that (the extra one week or two) serving as his "comeback to fitness" period. He will surely be fit in time for the first game no doubt. Now all he gotta do is rest his legs and body and focus on that first game with Croatia. He will be ready. tbaba1234: 1 Like |

Crotone's Simy On Super Eagles Call-Up: No Contact With Rohr, Targets Strong Finish Crotone striker Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo is one of the names being bandied about by the local media for a shock inclusion in the Super Eagles provisional squad list for the 2018 World Cup. Although Nwankwo would not hesitate if he is summoned to the national team, he has made it crystal clear that his priority is to finish the season strongly. ''There has not been contact with the national team officials, but that is not my focus now as I still have an ongoing season to try and finish strong with my team and reach our objective, '' says Simy to allnigeriasoccer.com . The 25-year-old is in the form of his life, with five goals in his last five matches for the Red and Blues in the Italian topflight including a brilliant strike against Juventus, which has helped the team to climb out of the relegation zone. ''There's no big secret behind my recent form other than hard work and patience as I have to wait so long for a chance to show my worth. ''The goal against Juventus I will say is instinct. As a striker, you just have to be ready for everything in the box, that's how we score goals,'' Simy concluded. Born and raised in Onitsha, Simy represented Future Hope Academy Nkpor, G.U.O FC and Imo United in his homeland before joining the youth team of Portuguese club Portimonense in August 2010. **Ifeanyi Emmanuel Source: http://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=27584 Russia 2018 WC Countdown: 42 days 13 hours 8 mins to go |

When did Joebie ever castigate Uzoho? But on a second thought, a young and untested GK will always come under such scrutiny especially considering the context of who will assume the #1 position. realpoacher: |

Belgian-Born Nigerian Striker Dessers Prefers Move to PSV Over Ajax, Feyenoord Belgian-born Nigerian striker Cyriel Dessers will prefer a move to PSV Eindhoven over Ajax Amsterdam and Feyenoord if he is allowed to leave FC Utrecht. Despite the fact he is not a guaranteed starter at FC Utrecht, Dessers has continued to impress for the Eredivisie club as he has had a hand in 17 goals (12 goals and 5 assists) in all competitions so far this season. Those stats may be eye-catching but he even did better last season while at NAC Breda, after contributing to 42 goals in 40 appearances over the course of the campaign. ''The first one (Ajax) is out of the question because I play at FC Utrecht", says Dessers to Voetbal International. "I think Feyenoord is a nice club, but PSV suits me best, I think, because of my southern character." Although Cyriel Dessers will reject a move to Ajax, he has picked 18-year-old Netherlands international Matthijs de Ligt as the most promising prospect in the Netherlands. He said : ''I played against him in the Jupiler League last season, he was seventeen years old, so I thought it will be easy. ''He let me escape once and then I scored, but otherwise I really did not get in. This season he is even better, if you see which clubs he is associated with, very clever.'' **Igho Kingsley Source: http://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=27582 Russia 2018 WC Countdown: 42 days 13 hours 2 mins to go 1 Like |

Agent Denies Imminent Transfer Of Trencin Nigerian Winger Hillary Gong To Anderlecht But Confirms Talks The agent of hot in demand AS Trencin high flying Nigerian winger Hillary Gong has played down reports that the 19 year old is close to joining Belgium side Anderlecht. Tony Harris who manages the affairs of the former GBS super teen told Oluwashina Okeleji of the BBC that although talks are underway both parties are not close to agreeing a fee for his transfer. In a post made on his twitter handle Okeleji also posted statements credited to Harris fuming over the alleged transfer fee of €10m erroneously quoted by Owngoalnigeria.com instead of a little over €1m as contained in the edited report. “I’ve spoken directly to Anderlecht & a host of clubs but there’s been nothin agreed whatsoever with Anderlecht nor are we anywhere close to doing anything with Anderchlecht”, Harris reportedly told Okeleji. “The reported amount is also laughable & makes a complete mockery of the story. Yesterday was an imaginary €20m bid rejected for Kalu, today €10m bid for Hilary from Anderlecht.” **Osas Mahawi Source: http://owngoalnigeria.com/2018/05/02/agent-denies-imminent-transfer-of-trencin-nigerian-winger-hillary-gong-to-anderlecht-but-confirms-talks/ Russia 2018 WC Countdown: 42 days 12 hours 53 mins to go |
