Icon4s: It strikes me that I have to explain what I have explained. Mascherano said it took him over a year to master it. I want Iheanacho to master the system. This will make him a better player. I am interested in a better player than a headline hype. I quoted you on this before all these talk started. I told you I will not have problem with Iheanacho benching as long as he is learning the system. I explained this in detail. I guess you did not pay attention. The City team is still learning. Anyone watching the team now can see the improvements. Just like the team, the players are improving. Guardiola actually has a three years development plan. I do not want Nacho that long without playing time. That is why I said a season or two. |

Icon4s: What part of I do not about Guardiola's playing time. Playing time is for people like you who think that guarantees development. I am for the behind-the-scenes work. I am for the training sessions. The drills, the fitness routines. The diet, the reduction in building muscles through weights instead use aerobics workout sessions. The high intensity sessions. These are what Nacho needs more than the game time you feel is the ultimate. After absorbing it. If there is no game time, move. So tell me the handwriting I am not seeing. |

We need to see him playing week in week out, there is a huge gap between training and the real match. This goes for every single sport ever created, i don't see how u can't get this. |

TheGoodJoe: The Algerian coach must be high on Oshogbo weed Victor Moses was the best player on the field that day Moses was in Messi mode, iheanacho missed clear cut chances mikel and etebo even played better, iheanacho and iwobi(bar one Jay Jay flick) were quiet that day, I think what actually happened was the Algerian coach said iwobi and iheanacho were Nigeria s key players before the match but during the match Moses raped them 2 Likes |

safarigirl:Thank you for this epic reply. Kelechi Iheanacho may not get the whole gist if we all keep positive and chain him to his comfort zone. He should come out of his comfort zone by some of these jabs we throw at him. I am even of the opinion that Rohr should allow Kayode who plays regularly for his team to start ahead of Iheanacho. If he continues starting games for us, he may never get the message. If this is seen as hatred towards Nacho, so be it. Super Eagles can not afford to rely on a bench "warmer" (let alone someone who can't make the match day squad) though for no reason of his, for our World Cup games. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,..................... binhozie: And what about the journalist who confirmed the manager's point. I also pointed it out before the manager said it. I doubt you understand Iheanacho's contribution. Iheanacho's constant running and movement gave Moses the room to shine. That was the point. So saying Moses did well showed you totally missed the point or did not even follow the post match news. |

terzurum5: The irony is that the so called Kayode also missed an easy chance but hey, it is good. He is playing regularly. Do you see the big whole in this train of thought? As Kayode is now, take him to City and make Guardiola pick his striker. Kayode will not have a chance. But, hey he is playing regularly. As I said, all these regular talk is just an excuse to drop the better player on the bench. Rohr is taking the players to camp. He will watch them closely and select the best players. Let me see your el regularitos be stronger, faster, more stamina and better conversion rate. |

TheGoodJoe: Excuse me. Are you telling me that the ideal is to get only drills and no game time? All those 'drills, fitness routine, dieting to reduce weight ' that you mentioned is it that players who play regular game time do not undergo those too? Or are you implying a player will have to chose between drills and regular play time? I am not understanding. You are now saying 'IF there is no game time move'. We are telling you there is no game time. PEP DOES NO HAVE PLANS FOR IHEANACHO FROM 2017/2018 SEASON AND BEYOND. So that means NO GAME TIME FOR IHEANACHO FOR THE 2017/2018 SEASON! that is the hand writing on the wall that you have read but purposely blocked your mind from reading the meaning. WE ARE CONCERNED BECAUSE 2018 IS OUR WORLD CUP YEAR AND WE WANT IHEANACHO TO MAINTAIN A REGULAR PLAYING TIME LEADING TO THE WORLD CUP. That is my point and that of some others here. Is that difficult to accept? 3 Likes |

TheGoodJoe:No don't get people wronged, nobody was saying Kayode is better than Nacho but major issue is Nacho's development at Man City which is faulty under Pep but u are refusing to accept. No doubt Nacho remain d top striker for Eagles coz statistics proved that but not having playing time is not good for his pedigree as Super Eagles striker. If I may ask do u think Rohr is happy seeing Kelechi on d bench under disguise of learning or drilling under Pep or do u think Iheanacho is happy sitting on d bench or not even make a squad day match. 2 Likes |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Icon4s(m): 6:42am On Apr 29, 2017 |
TheGoodJoe: So because it took Mascherano over a year to master it, it will also take Iheanacho 1 or 2 too to master it. Your assumption here is highly flawed and baseless. No two players are the same and more so that do not play the same position and not have to compete with the same kind of players. 1 Like |

You guys will talk anyhow about Nacho just to prove your point. The truth is This: Iheanacho did have a big hand in disorganizing that Algerian defence. You can never rule out the place of pressing high upfront and being mobile as a no.9 In modern football. So biko stop blabbing to paint nacho black. Nacho's movements alone drew out Algeria's defence constantly to bring in Moses' gameplay and menace. And again, Saying Iheanacho missed clear cut chances.... chaaaiiiiii.... abeg... how many clear cut chances did Iheanacho have that day?? Except for the angled cross he received from musa in the second half which he narrowly missed when he sidefooted just over the bar while under surveillance from an Algerian defender. The way some of una dey analyse football don tire pesin honestly. Speak the truth even if it means giving credit to a player you all are castigating for being involved in drills supervised by Pep and co. Haba! And You don't know more than the Algerian coach.... his profile is well known. We talked about it before that Algeria game. So don't think your cheap talk can rubbish the tactical authority that such a coach has. binhozie: |

Elder Sir Kog45.... I greet you sir. Iheanacho is not okay with his situation. If he was we won't have heard that he almost joined Leverkusen possibly in loan on January. And Rohr keeps mentioning the non-playing situation of Nacho meaning that Rohr does have chats with Nacho about it and trying to see how the issue can be naviagted so as to get his top marksman to get regular football. Rohr is no fool. He knows Nacho must be playing regularly and Nacho is also not stupid. He knows he stands the great chance of losing out if he doesn't get regular football by next season which is why this summer is so vital for him. Rohr and Nacho have this summer to fix this non-playing situation. Iheanacho on his part is doing his best to wait till summer. He is training and putting in his best. Will he kill himself if the coach doesn't rate or like him? ofcos not... so he has to make the best of the situation before he leaves for good. You don't expect him to lambast pep or man city for not giving him playtime. He is A young African player. He is not a Toure yet in the scheme of things.... so things must be done wisely.... Wanting Nacho to prove ambition by being irritated now when he speaks to the media is not exactly the wise way to go. Let summer come and then we will see.......... Nacho will leave... he must. And ROHR knows that for the sake of the super Eagles and the upcoming Russia 2018 finals, Nacho must have regular football in the 2017/18 season. Chikena... But people are sounding as if Nacho should leave today today as if the summer window is already open... na wa.... And about Kayode.... don't be surprised if I tell you that there are forumites here who actually think and will tell you that Kayode should start ahead of nacho... or say he is better than Nacho. Nothing I never see for here. Loolll Kog45: |

Because I know how deliberately some people are avoiding the main antagonist and hitting Nacho... I will continue posting this news article... Owen hergreaves dropped a big hint about this man called pep... he subtly raised the mirror to show us the real issue of Nacho's situation at city... pep is and has always been the problem... not nacho. So you can focus your anger on pep and leave Nacho alone.... By summer, I trust Nacho will leave for regular football either on loan or permanently. Thank you. ...................................................................................................... Only Guardiola Can Explain Why He Keeps Picking Sterling Ahead Of Iheanacho – EPL Legend Former Manchester United and Manchester City midfielder Owen Hargreaves says Pep Guardiola decision to stick with Raheem Sterling ahead of Kelechi Iheanacho can only be explained by the manager. Iheanacho was a late substitute in Man City 1-2 loss to Arsenal in the semi-finals of the Emirates FA Cup played at Wembley, making history as the first ever player to be used as a fourth substitute in the history of the competition when he came on for Sterling in extra-time. Yesterday he wasn’t listed for action by Guardiola in his matchday squad for the Manchester Derby against Manchester United, a decision which shocked Hargreaves considering the Nigerian netted the winner in the reverse tie at Old Trafford last year. ”Maybe there’s something the coach (Guardiola) knows that we don’t know else Iheanacho who scored the winner should have at least made the bench, ahead of Sterling”, Hargreaves said. ”Sterling has struggled for form and goals this season, unlike Iheanacho who has been prolific in front of goal despite limited playing time. I can’t understand picking Sterling ahead of Iheanacho only Guardiola can explain”. **Michael James Source: http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/04/28/only-guardiola-can-explain-why-he-keeps-picking-sterling-ahead-of-iheanacho-epl-legend/ 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe:Gaurdiola is not the alpha and omega in football na, so why do you press so strongly for KC to absorb his philosophy when it seems that Pep has not taken to the young man at all. I think the reason for the arguments on this point between you and other posters is that you regard preparation on the training ground aka drills as more important than playing time and that the drills should come before playing time. Others are of the view(and rightly so in my opinion) that both are of equal importance and should run concurrently. You drill, you play, you drill, you play. That's the equation that makes for robust development of a player. 1 Like |

Icon4s:Dont let him deceive you. While Mascherano was learning, he was playing. He played two seasons with Pep. In 2010-11, he played 27 times. In 2011-2012, he played 31 times. I don't understand why he keeps bringing up that Mascherano example to justify Kelechi's snub. Sterling has been learning drills and is still getting worse by the day. Sane is not improving that much but is still playing g. Aguero is not a better scorer than previous seasons despite the drills but is still playing. He wants Kelechi to learning nonsense drills inside AC pitch with no plan for him to get regular minutes. 5 Likes |

Official – Gent Loan Out New Nigerian Signing Anthony Ikedi To FK Haugesund Norwegian side FK Haugesund have completed the loan signing of 18 year old Nigerian midfielder Anthony Ikedi from Belgian side Gent. Ikedi was signed by Gent two months ago, but won’t join the likes of Rabiu Ibrahim, William Troost-Ekong, Moses Simon, Samuel Kalu and Anderson Esiti yet, as he will spend a year on loan with FK Haugesund. Haugesund had Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong on their books on loan for 18 months before he returned to Gent in January. Same route Ikedi who stands at an impressive height of 198 metres will be hoping to toe. Physically strong and good in aerial duels, the defensive midfielder was spotted by Haugesund director Jostein Grindhaug during a scouting trip to Nigeria in 2016, but Gent pipped them to his signing. However they have now gotten their man on loan, a signing which excites Grindhaug, who will be hoping the Nigerian proves to be a success during his loan spell, where he will team up with Ibrahim Shuaibu and Anthony Izuchukwu. Two players who were also signed from Golden Boot Academy. Ikedi will be eligible to make his debut once his work permit comes through from the Norwegian authorities as he has was registered before the close of the transfer window in Norway on the 31st of March **Daniel Martins Source: http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/04/29/official-gent-loan-out-new-nigerian-signing-anthony-ikedi-to-fk-haugesund/ 1 Like |

This is what I have been hammering for long..... And not only me. But I do mine devoid of hits on Nacho himself... This is the perfect combo for the development of a young player. Just ask AS Monaco.... This is their model and this is why Djibril Sidibe chose Monaco over Arsenal despite Arsenal's fame as one of Europe's top sides for developing Young talents. Sidibe was never gonna see as many minutes at arsenal as he saw when he began at Monaco and today he is one one of France's brightest right back options... and guess what? he is still learning.... Pep is just drilling nacho but not playing him at all or at best, playing him for meagre minutes... #just poor. Abeg... summer no dey far. Summer don reach sef... Nacho will seek playing time in as much as he still grows in the game. Mujtahida: |
