Did you know that there are only 13 Chemistry teachers and 17 Physics teachers in entire Edo State with over 200 secondary schools?
For the past 8 years, no single recruitment, no bursary, no single local or foreign investor/investment (apart from Iara ).....all we had was tax, multiple ticketing, tuition fees increment.
Now, that's what I call dark ages.

The Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM) weekend adopted the PDP candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, as its candidate for the election.

The party said the decision was taken after its leadership and some members in Edo State carefully assessed the candidates of the two major parties, PDP, and APC.

Edo State chairman of the PDM, Nosa Omorodion, who led some other members of his executive to the residence of the PDP candidate, said his party would make available their resources for the actualization of his gubernatorial ambition.

He said he would rally other smaller political parties in Edo State to give their support to Pastor Ize-Iyamu as there was no need for them to present governorship candidates that cannot go anywhere, adding that the change brought upon the country by the APC has been disastrous.

With Atiku's party adopting a PDP candidate, you can now understand the following -

1. With PDM's assistance, PDP will capture Edo State, indicating to PDP elements that Atiku is now working for the interest of the PDP as against the 2015 Presidential election where he (Atiku) helped APC's Buhari to power. This is meant to wet the ground and create a soft landing for Atiku when he returns to PDP. It is now a matter of when he returns not if he will return.

2. Sheriff is merely acting a script perhaps written by Atiku, who is likely to pursue his presidential ambition on the platform of PDP, with PDP having zoned its 2019 presidential ticket to the North.

3. The PDP trouble is still brewing and will continue i.e. PDP founding fathers vs Atiku. Atiku does not want to lose out either hence the shaking in PDP and APC camps. It is all about 2019 presidential platforms!

4. APC is already disintegrating, and will lose its pre-2015 strength as it approaches 2019 due to contending forces within the party jostling for its ticket (They all know that Buhari is a threat to democracy). For instance, losing Edo State to PDP with Atiku's support will indicate that a chunky pillar has been pulled from APC. The battle for National Assembly leadership will worsen as APC leaders fight their proxy battles to control the commanding heights of their party - APC. It will move to the states eventually where some APC stalwarts will work for the opposition just like PDM is about doing in Benin. Do not underestimate Turaki's network across the nation.

5. Buhari will not re-contest. He has lost his support base.

Its disheartening to hear people talking about PDP ruling Edo State, its such a shame that most Edo's (benin in particular) have so much passion in enduring that our beloved state does not move forward. Can a sane man support PDP in Edo state? After all that the party did during their days in power, yet they criticize Osho baba who has made landmark achievements in the state. Let's watch and see!!!
