Kazikazi:cosmetic are simply project done purposely for beautification and not neccasrily project done to cover development. for example, you established an electric train when TZ generate far less than capacity , just a region in Ghana, Greater Accra consume and generate far more electricity than the whole 60 million Tanzania. This directly shows Tz is lacking energy to fuel the growth of her local industry. so why electric train when local industry are in need of power consumption? such project are called cosmetic. .... You need to go check quality road statistics, as it stands, world economic forum recently realised one ). Senegal has better road than TZ, to see more about Ghana offices and apartment , simply used the Google search..... The real average TZ is poor and can't really afford many of the eyebrow life the goverment is trying to force on them. they are mostly created to be enjoy by the foreigners... You don't jump on plane over night to go work abroad. An average Nigerians or Ghanaian you see in S.A can really do something back home but love of adventure coupled with opportunity forces them to live their comfort zone. It takes over 2000 dollars to travelled to south africa from west Africa and that is diffrence from basic travel allowance . Are you saying the people paying this money are really poor? Chinese/ Lebanese are also all over for the same purpose of opportunities ....They are lot of Japanese in Germany and America, not coming down to africa dosnt mean they don't look for opportunities outside their comfort zone, same things goes to Singapore. the only laid back people are mostly from gulf country ( UAE/ Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain etc) and the reasons to this is not far fetched . Ghana isn't a small nation in land as well, it has the same geographical space as Britain. what fuel urbanization more often is largely population not necessarily land size . 4 Likes 1 Share |

Samorobo hopefully you can see what I am telling you about world ranking ..... This is another ranking report from the USA. it has proven what I have been telling you since. Ghana education system is incomparable in west africa ....... Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has been adjudged the best University in Ghana and West Africa. ""The Ashanti Region-based university also came 14th on the African continent and 706th out of selected 1,500 best universities worldwide. It displaced two of West Africa’s prestigious tertiary institutions, the University of Ibadan (UI) in Nigeria and fellow compatriots, the University of Ghana (UG), which ranked 17 and 24 in the sub-region, the report indicated. This is according to Washington-based US News & World Report 2019. The 86-year-old organisation is known for ranking and evaluating universities based on their research performance and its ratings by members of the academic community around the world and in its region. The U.S. News & World Report is a multi-platform publisher of news and information, which includes; annual print and e-book versions of its authoritative rankings of Best Colleges, Best Graduate Schools and Best Hospitals in the World. The rankings according to the U.S. News and World Report are produced to provide insight into how universities compare globally so that prospective students could make the best choices. It, therefore, focuses specifically on the institution’s academic research and overall reputation. The overall best global universities rankings encompass the top 1,500 institutions spread across 81 countries globally. The first step in producing these rankings, which are powered by Clarivate Analytics Incites, involved creating a pool of 1,599 Universities that is used to rank the top 1,500 schools. The second step is to calculate the rankings using the 13 indicators and weights that U.S. News chose to measure global research performance. Each of the 1,500 top-ranked university's profile pages on usnews.com lists the overall global score as well as numerical ranks for the 13 indicators, allowing students, academics and university leaders to compare each university's standing in each indicator. These indicators include; global research reputation, regional research reputation, publications, books authored, conference papers, normalised citation impact, total citations, number of publications that are among the 10% most cited, percentage of total publications that are among the 10% most cited, international collaboration - relative to country, international collaboration, number of highly cited papers that are among the top 1% most cited in their respective field, percentage of total publications that are among the top 1% most highly cited papers, and general reputation. With a global score of 42.4, KNUST had a global reputation for research of 1,044, regional research reputation of 21. It also obtained 1,572 publications, 1,189 books, 1,444 conferences, 33 normalisation citation impact and a total citation of 1,0409. In addition, KNUST attained 949 percentage of total publications that are among the 10 per cent most cited, 381 International collaborations - relative to country, and 15 International collaborations. This latest ranking projects KNUST as the best University for teaching, learning and research in Ghana and West Africa as whole"". source .....US news and world report..... 1 Like 2 Shares

Austine1212:Rugby is not all about 15s, Namibia has never defeated Kenya sevens in decades. Same applies to 15s, Kenya has never defeated Namibia but at least we always meet at finals unlike the Namibia sevens which is not even close to Kenya sevens. our rugby was recently doing bad and that was because our senior players were on strike. Our rugby sevens demolished South Africa mercilessly in recent past during safari sevens, and funny enough the likes of Collins injera and other senior players never played. So Kenya rugby is not a joke. |

vaxx2:Yes energy consumption per capita is good measure. You may have to remove the % of power dedicated to Ghana minning industry so you don't distort what the average household consume. For example South Africa consumes 30,000MW but 60% of it by 10 minning and manufacturing giants. Migration is not a factor..on the contrary it shows Ghana historical problems with coups, famine n economic collapse..same situation you find in Somalia or Ethiopia or DrC or Nigeria...where people sell family asset to escape their countries for lack of internal opportunities. Urbanization is good indicator as long as it's not DRC type where people escape to live in shanties so they can enjoy peace and security...in short Ghana urban center have to match the population in housing, amenities and infrastructure. Nigeria kind of urbinazation with mega slumpolis like Kano, Ibandan,Lagos etc with housing deficit of 12m is not a good indicator of progress. Kinshasa is an example of 20m mega slumpolis with Lagos. 2 Likes |

At last the 2.3 billion dollar sky train in Ghana has been sign.... samorobo don't you think this is good news The concession agreement for the construction of the Accra Sky Train Project has been signed on the sidelines of the ongoing African Investment Forum in Johannesburg, South Africa. The signing of the agreement means feasibility studies, spanning a period of nine months to determine the bankability of the project will commence, with the investors assuring that the first station for the Accra Sky Train project will be opened in 9 months. At the signing ceremony on Monday, November 11, President Akufo-Addo described it as “a happy day for Ghana and her good people”, adding that it is a “critical step towards the consummation of this project”, and a vivid testimony of the value of the African Investment Forum. The President thanked the SkyTrain Consortium for putting together the wherewithal that is allowing this project to go forward. The Accra Sky Train, according to him, “is meeting an important infrastructural need, and hopefully the step that is being taken today, that is signing the concession agreement, is bring the project to much nearer conclusion. That is what we are hoping for so that the people of Ghana benefit from the progress and the relief that a modern system of transport in our capital city is going to bring.” SkyTrain systems are pre-fabricated using precision moulded, pre-stressed reinforced concrete components that are capable of being installed at a very rapid rate, meaning that there is minimal disruption and congestion in the urban area that is undergoing installation and commissioning. The proposed SkyTrain initiative in Accra provides for the development of five routes, four of which are comprised of radial routes that originate at the proposed SkyTrain Terminal, at the heart of Accra, at a newly developed Kwame Nkrumah circle, and one (1) route that provides and intra-city commuter loop distribution service, also emanating from Circle. The Project envisages a total track length across all routes of 194 kilometres. Source: 3news.com 1 Like 1 Share |

Shma: The Sevens Rugby is a scaled down version of the Rugby, it is not that important as the Rugby 15. It's like comparing football with beach football. Thats why I say Namibia is better and also in Ranking. Lemme be naive, the only reason Kenya won in Kenya is because the pitch was so bad, and youyou guys are used to train in a bad pitch lol 1 Like |
