Kenya total external debt is not even 30B. It was 25B last I checked. With China taking 10B dollars. That leaves 15B dollars. Africa Development Bank and World Bank take about half of that. If you see multilateral loans in kenya - think Africa Dev bank and maybe World Bank - NOT IMF. IMF Is the lender of last resort. We rarely go there. The moment you see ANY COUNTRY borrowing from IMF _ they are in HUGE GHANA LIKE PROBLEMS. Just30: 2 Likes |

rvp20182:South Africa does not need debt relief that is why they are at the forefront with us trying to get poor economies like Kenya the debt relief that you guys badly need. South Africa will Come out of COVID with a stronger growth just like Ghana. For Kenya, the recovery will take 5 to 10 years 1 Like 1 Share |

It is true. Nigeria Central Bank is just a comedy show. Instead of starting a development bank - they lend money to rice farmers - they also have different rates of buying forex - and they are basically doing anything the cattle herder in Abuja wants. If Abuja cattle herder no 1 wants loans for fulani hersdmen - their Central Bank will get into retail banking. Very crazy, At least the hobbits of Ghana try to keep things a little sane albeit hopeless. mtisTheQubit: 4 Likes |

So 1B loan from IMF is just for the show. Why not borrow 1B dollars from World Bank for development. We thought Nigerians were crazy but at least they have some self-respect. ADB= Good IMF= Very bad. Things are elephant. WB= Good. Just30: 3 Likes |

rvp20182:Tell that lies to your fellow idiots . if there is presently perfect transition of primary school kids to secondary school in your country, your goverment will not find it comfortable to copy Ghana for what is gradually fading out of her educational system . why is your goverment failing to adopt the system that admit your 99 unknown student in urban area to secondary school in rural area of kenya ? is it unsustainable? or impractical?. You spend so much on education yet it is not materializing, is it becuse you are spending without thinking. Your country keeps harvesting fresh idea from Ghana in education sector . Ghana must be some kind of Eldorado in your country. 5 Likes 2 Shares

1B from IMF is already in your "account" - actually, it already being used to help you settle balance of payments - you see hobbit when you import and you don;t have dollars - IMF will pay for you - and you can get wheat, rice, etc and survive. You're experiencing balance of payment problems - meaning you cannot settle international trade transactions. Without IMF - you'll not be able to import anything or trade with anybody or send money to anybody. IMF exists to fix international trade and finance - the money is not used to build roads or buy rodents - this is painful injection to Ghana Central Bank so it can participate in international trade and finance.
