6 Reasons To Buy And Not To Buy Iphone 7, Iphone 7 Plus by hayPizzle(m): 12:00pm On Oct 01, 2016 |
Apple's new iPhones are here. The all-new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus boasts of a faster processor, better camera and bigger battery amongst numerous other additions. The smartphones have received mixed review from analysts. While some view Apple’s new iPhones merely as incremental upgrades, there are others who feel that both the smartphones actually pack in quite some new features. Here we give six reasons for why you should buy the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, and six reasons why you shouldn't. So, read and decide on whose side you are. (1) No major difference in design. Both iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus sport the same design as their predecessors -- iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. In fact, it is also the same design as that of the two-year old iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models. There are some minor changes like the new handset has stereo speakers at the bottom, dual- rear cameras (applicable to iPhone 7 Plus), and antenna lines placed at the sides for a cleaner look -- but as we said really no change to the look and feel. (2) Almost same' display as iPhone 6S iPhone 7 screen features same Retina HD display as the one in Apple’s previous-generation handsets (iPhone 6S and iPhone 6s Plus). However, Apple claims that the display now offers a wider colour gamut as compared to the duo's standard RGBs display. (3) No major improvements in battery. Apple claims that both iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus come with longest-ever battery. However, in terms of hours it is two-three hours more for iPhone 7 and one hour more for the iPhone 7 Plus model as compared to their predecessors. (4) No headphone jack. As widely rumoured Apple has removed the 3.5mm headphone jack from its new iPhone 7 range. This means users won’t be able to use their existing 3.5mm headphones with the new handsets till they use the Lightning to 3.5mm adapter. The smartphone, however, ships with earpods with Lightning connectors and the adapter. (5)RAM. Although Apple never reveals the RAM capacity of its devices, a report in Forbes suggests that iPhone 7 features 2GB of RAM. If true, this means that the handset has not received any bump in RAM capacity. For, iPhone 6s too sports 2GB RAM. Incidentally, Apple on its part never reveals the RAM and battery of its smartphones. (6) Jet Black variant not available in 32GB. The Jet Black colour variant of both iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, with mirror-like finish, appears really good to look at. However, all those keen to buy the Jet Black colour variant will have to shell out more money. For, the variant is only available in 128GB and 256GB storage models, there's no 32GB model in this colour. (7) Better processor. The new iPhones are powered by a brand new 64- bit A10 Fusion chipset. Designed by Apple, it has a quad-core CPU with two high-performance cores and two energy-efficient cores for better battery life. The A10 also comes with a new hexa-core GPU that’s 50% faster than the GPU on the A9 chipset powering the previous-generation iPhone 6. (8 ) More internal storage. All variants of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus offer double the storage capacity – 32GB, 128GB and 256GB, when compared to their corresponding predecessors. (9) Wireless AirPods. Along with new innards, the fresh iPhone duo is compatible with the newly-launched Apple AirPods. Powered by an Apple-designed W1 chip, the AirPods let users access Apple’s digital assistant Siri by just tapping on them. Not just that functions like changing tracks and controlling volume can be executed by double tap gestures as well. Apple AirPods offer 5 hours of continuous playback on a single charge, and the included charging-cum-carrying case. |
