Segadem: Yes they do but there are people who are paid, trained and equipped to prevent, minimise and prosecute the commission of crimes. They are there because it is kown that there will most likely exist such distasteful elements in any society. If they fail in their jobs and these miscreants strike successfully and even escape, they are as guilty as the criminals. If the government is unable to diligently investigate and prosecute criminals, they are responsible for their failure. 2 Likes 1 Share |

If as learned and exposed Ben Nwabueze is, he could still be supporting corrupt people, why are we now bewildered when an Ariara market is screaming "witch hunting " in support of corruption people. Supporting anything criminal and bad is encoded in their genome an it's just natural to them. 5 Likes |

deji15: I knew I would see this kind of statement or post because some people are incurable tribal bigots. Prof Ben Nwabueze is the No. 1 authority when it comes to Constitutional law and the constitutionality of any action by the government. He had every reason to question the constitutionality of the creation and powers of the EFCC and he rightfully did so. The fact that some dolt doesn't understand the role/activity of a lawyer does not make such person a corrupt element. Prof has never and will never be on the payroll of any politician. I can't say the sane for all those u have listed here with the possible exception of the late Gani Fawehinmi. 3 Likes |

SuperS1Panther: You are completely unable to understand constitutional provisions and applications and that is why ignorance colours every word u just posted. Also note that those u term corrupt are in the eyes of the law, innocent until proven guilty, entitled to legal representation, and have no business proving their innocence. That burden, by the same law, rests on the prosecution. If they are unable to discharge that burden or allow themselves to be influenced/bought over by any inducements, that is not the fault of the defendant. No one will roll over and play dead rather u should be disappointed that the government, with everything at its disposal still expects others to take responsibility for their ineptitude. That's the height of hypocrisy and stupidity. If u feel every lawyer who represents an accused person or queries the legality or otherwise of the actions of the government supports corruption, why did 15 SANs go to represent Buhari despite his inability to produce the basic certificate which qualifies him to even contest for any office? 7 Likes |

SuperS1Panther: And how did Prof Ben Nwabueze attempt to prevent justice from taking its course? Go and read up and do some research so u don't produce ignorant stuff here though that is most likely all u are capable of but I'm magnanimous enough to give you the benefit of doubt. I'll help you: Read if u can and identify where Prof Ben supported corruption according to you : http://ugowrite..com.ng/2016/03/efcc-is-nigerias-most-corrupt.html?m=1 Read this also: AGAINST the backdrop of prosecution of some ex-state governors for alleged acts of corruption, constitutional lawyer and Chairman, The Patriots, Professor Ben Nwabueze has said that the law setting up the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is illegal because it is ultra vires the 1999 Constitution, and is null and void. Challenging the constitutionality of the EFCC is what Ribadu is offended about because he saw it has his source of daily bread and clout being attacked and this was done as far back as 2007 and earlier from d time EFCC was created. Who would want to have the coveted position of Chairman of EFCC taken away because he was occupying an unconstitutional office? 2 Likes |

They've given him the APC tablet. .. the PRO-PAN-GADA-Quine. When you take it, you just effortlessly spew gibberish. FYI Mr. Ribadu, there is nothing absolutely wrong if Professor Nwabueze challenges the law setting up the EFCC or the jurisdiction of the EFCC. That is how the legal systems are strengthened. You don't expect uniformity of opinions in a democracy. 2 Likes |

Even when there is corruption then why not speak out why wait till now I like the prof because so far all he has told PMB makes sense. Prof Nwabueze should be mindful of RIBADU he is out to tarnish his image. 2 Likes |
