If you are a lover of romance movies, you would agree
with me that getting married is something that appears
so beautiful, every girl out there would give anything
to have a feeling like that. I love wedding ceremonies
a lot, but not just for the food, I love the part where
the bride walks in and all attention is on her. In my
many years of following this tradition, I have realize
that much emphasis seems to be made on the
wedding ceremony, but not on the marriage itself.

As a Nigerian, you would agree with me that the way
Nigerian ladies, carry this marriage thing is something
else. Pre wedding this, pre wedding that. The major
concerned seem to be on the wedding ceremony,
having a perfect celebration, pleasing the guest, outing
up a perfect picture for the world to see. I am not
against anyone having a beautiful wedding, your dream
day, but in the mist of all the celebration, you should
not forget that there is still so much work to be done.

Our present generation is filled with lazy people,
everyone expect something without giving anything.
Two people cannot live as one unless they agree, it
takes two to tangle. Dating is a different game from
marriage, the rules of dating don't apply in marriage. It
is the dream of every girl out there to get married, in
an average Nigerian girl can even kill, just to follow the
trend of newlyweds. but what's next after the
wedding? This is a question we need to ask ourselves.

The rate of failed marriages is on the increase
everyday. I have asked myself severally what went
wrong.? How can two people who seem so in love with
each other, suddenly want to end all that. Where did it
all go wrong, and whose fault is it?. A lot of things can
cause a marriage to fail, a single party can not be
blamed entirely for the failure. People should
understand that marriage is not a bed of rose, and
there is no perfect marriage out there. it takes a lot
of tolerance to make it in marriage.

I strongly advice against rushed marriage. Don't get
married because others are getting, get married
because you have found the right one for you. Take
your time, and be sure you are ready for this step
before taking it. Parents should try and educate the
children, on the trials of marriage, and how to
overcome them. Most importantly don't forget to pray
to your God for the right person.
