Empiree: God is a merciful God I know He exists He knows my struggle. But what I don't understand is why all of this is happening together. I'm so financially challenged Things have taken turn from bad to worse. I understand U knowledgeable about life and the many unseen instances How do I go about life to get that which I want from life. |

LyfeJennings:Don't lose hope brother. It is part of life we all pass thru this sort of low point in our life, you only needs to be steadfast in your faith and continue to make dua. Always remember your prayer would not go waste for Allah is extremely merciful. Engage more in asking Allah for forgiveness for Allah's promise in Surat Nuh would suffice all your need. And will help you with wealth and sons, and will assign unto you Gardens and will assign unto you rivers. Q71:10-12 Above all make salawat Ala nabiy your second nature. Make whole lots of Darud for holy Prophet(saw) for any of your need and believe me after seeing the result you may not want to even engage in other prayers again. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Empiree:Very critical. Thats foundation upon which every other things are built. I remember Ikupakuti statement on this he said " Is better to have FAITH (believe in Allah's Oneness) and continue "sining" than to be FAITHLESS (unbeliever) and continue doing good. Well this is just to underscore the need for faith first NOT an encouragement to engage in sin o lol. 2 Likes |

Excel70: 1. Salat ibrahimiya 2. Salat Fatih 3. Dalailu khairat I belief whatever salawat you do for holy Prophet(saw) is ok but pls NEVER abandoned Ibrahimiya. I do a lot of khairat and lately salat fatih base on recommendation from my sheikh but still engage in ibrahimiya as Defactor. I have tasted the fruit of these salawat and I can tell you they are wholesome though not fully with fatih. Thanks. |

Excel70:Ummm...though I used to hear that as well but for me if you do it with noble intention for love of Prophet(saw), you think Allah will not reward you for your effort and sincerity? Though mine is "accidental" I would say, been given to me my a known sheikh during conversion with him in my sleep, sort of encouragement to harness the potential of faith with what I have doing before ibramiya etc. So even if there is need be that you have to get it from sheikh, then Allah would bring succor someday. Continue engaging in what Allah has made easy for you. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Re: ...... by LadunaI(m): 12:49am On Jul 27, 2019 |
Empiree:Interesting question actually. Can you further explain the detail how this yepe tete is been done. The closely related thing I ever read regarding this is in Sahih Muslim when Holy Prophet(saw) said that whosoever his endeavor agree with some early prophet (as) then that would be ok. I can't recall vividly the hadith, I will have to research again and dig it out. But the aspect of it that is tantamount to fortune telling would be strongly forbidden by sharia. As regards khawal, one can see from story of earlier prophets and that of waliy like Jurail (before advent of holy Prophet(saw)) that these people engaged in one form of Khawal or the other, and this seem norm for would be favourite of God to engage in such spiritual exercise. Even the holy Prophet(saw) is not left out. My take is that with advent of ISLAM the itikaf seems to have somewhat "abrogated" that practice and I believe if one is fortunate to witness Lailatul Qadr then the benefit accrued during that is far more BETTER than many months or year of khawal devoid of it. Though while I will agree that khawal can still be engaged in provided is been confine to within the purview of sharia. However, I am still strongly believe that itikaf has been provided as a better alternative, though I think a time would come when the NEED for more spiritual development would require one to practice it. So for me, Khawal is a noble endeavor that been practice of holy men, and I think nothing is wrong with that if one is given the himma and strength to do it by Allah (swt). LadunaI:JazakaAllahu Khayran. You are very correct. Read this thread if you can. Let me remind you that ikupakuti explained some details regarding fortune telling and I quoted him recently bcuz i found them interesting. He said whether it is istikhara recommended in islam or aworawo or the use of Jinn and all sorts of ayewo are fortune telling. He then analysed halal from haram. Ikupakuti was very correct. That said, those who go against iyepe tite are either deliberately decided to confuse and misguide people or they are ignorant of the subject. Iyepe tite is not haram PROVIDED it is in line with what nabi said in Sahih Muslim. In sahih muslim nabi(SAW) was asked 2 or 3 types of fortune telling including the use of sand (iyepe tite). Answers given by nabi (SAW) for first and second forms indicate they are haram which include using Jinn. But when questioner asked about the use of sand (iyepe tite) his answer was different. So the hadith you are looking for is attached below. Also if you can, watch sheikh Al-Misr brief lecture and Q&A and someone asked him about iyepe tite. He refuted many misconstrued practices condemned by 'puritans'. Please watch if you can. You may watch iyepe tite from 1:15:00 So the expanation for iyepe tite as i knew as a child is not about looking into future or that jinn resides inside the sand and telling you future. It is absolute nonsense. Iyepe tite is old fashioned 'calculator' where they already studied numbers and possible result just like today scientists predict many thing based on calculations. That is all about iyepe tite. Nothing more. The problem is some people go a little further and turned it to something else seeking 'future'. This is what Sheikh Yahya Solati condemns in the video above when he said "ati enito teyepe ati enito lo yewo ina ni sose". But appearance and reality are opposite of each other which means if you see Mr. A drawing something on sand and Mr. B also does the same, this is appearance and it is the same. But reality is Mr. A is into hisab while Mr. B involves with unseen. So it is irrational for any muslim to quickly condemn a muslim just bcuz you see him drawing on sand. Drawing we are talking about is written in arabic usually not "eji ogbe". They also draw Muhammad and Allah in arabic and then draw name(s) of waliy etc. This is basically tawasul. It has nothing to do with fortune telling. I grew up knowing these things. My sheikh also used tira written by medieval scholars. This tira is equivalent to modern aircraft trackers. I remembered clearly in 1995 when his first son travelled out of the country to Brussels. That time, you know technology was not as it is now and there was no cell phones. So my sheikh and his friend dug out this tira after waiting for days and heard nothing about his whereabout. It was very late night and i was nosy enough to hear their convos. So they were reading this tira and added whatever hisab they found therein. First their result showed his son was in problems but it was not clear. At this point my sheikh was scared and he couldn't even sit down. His friend consoled him and read further. Here comes sad news while reading. The tira says '....bla bla bla bla bla al maut". Of course his name was added with which they arrived at every result. When my sheikh seen the word 'maut' (death), he bursted into tears and gave up. His friend consoled him again that he is not done. They were reading this tira and at the same time had their pen and paper to document and calculate. Mhen, i cried too even though they knew not i was around snitching on them. They finally read everything and properly did the hisab and came to conclusion that there was indeed difficulties but nothing major. Just after they finished and hoped for the best, his son called (landline) that there was no problem except that he was briefly detained bcus of strange object found in his luggage. Strange object immigration officials found was eja kika ati yiyan (baba ijebu thing). They wanted to investigate it. That was all. So where is fortune telling in this?. Our modern alfas need to be careful of putting on boxing gloves with fellow muslims on subject they do not understand. You can see from the hadith it doesn't haram iyepe tite provided it is in harmony with similar narration above. 2 Likes

^^^ empiree This is deep just like your reply in that other thread. But what is the nature of this calculation ? Is it in anyway related to modern mathematics like geometry, algebra etc or there's particular ancient mathematical calculation been use for such endeavor. I think one area if research would have been to investigate some earlier prophets that have done similar activities. And to the best of knowledge I haven't come across such discuss. It would be nice knowing how this been used before. I will download and watch the clip you send. |
Re: ...... by Empiree: 8:36pm On Jul 27, 2019 |
LadunaI:There are still more knowledgeable Alfas in ilorin and other places(young and old) who sincerely know this. I believe it is more ancient mathematical calculation. Many Alfa don't want to discuss this subject openly anymore due to currently trend. They just preach openly what people want to hear and what is in harmony with their level of understanding. In order to get clarity I contacted a young Alfa I talked about earlier in this thread regarding iyepe tite and khalwa. After he finished with his explanation I said to him this is what I understood growing up as a child. I asked him why then modern Muslims simply takfir this branch of Islamic knowledge?. He said "Ife Inu coupled with aimokan" is their problem. But sometimes their objection is understandable bcuz of charlatans. So basically, ghulu on both sides are condemned. Really, modern mathematics are logical deductions from ancient mathematical calculation. So when Nabi Muhammad (saw) said salat of the one who visited soothsayer is suspended for 40days he's referring to the first two. |

Salam alaykum my brothers and sitsters.... I want to clarify something... Iyepe tite and IFA(ejiogbe) are the same thing... They are both based on calculations..... Which is kind of related to astrology, cos it's also based on alignment of stars... All these are definitively forbidden in Islam.... |

Alhajiemeritus:hummm just seeing this. How did you come to this conclusions though and what do you think of the related hadith posted above?. Ifa(opele), you can see clearly what those alawo say or do. They invoke their deities in the process. However, the reason our ulama in yorubaland keep these types of practices and even other part of the muslim world is bcus they do not want muslim to seek help from non muslims. This is why they accepted daef ahadith as long as they do not implicate shari'a. Unfortunately today, current generation trash out many of these practices and now as you can see, many modern healthcare system and schools are owned by christians. And ultimately weather or sky is controlled by them. See, many of us now sit in front of the TV believing in their forecasts. It is the same future telling. Modern technology is derived from Quran. They are mentioned in the Quran but we don't make use them them. |

LadunaI:you need to listen to this interesting piece by Maulana Dr. MUhammad Fazlur Rahman Ansar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRVjP3U4M9Q Towards the middle he speaks about islamic sciences and of making "inquiries" (spiritual) he was referring to i believe. It is never forbidden in islam. He said "you might find some of these sciences being labeled blasphemy by religious people of today(muslims) which are in tandem with nabi muhammad(SAW)" I didnt quote him verbatim and i hope i didnt misunderstood him. I am going to listen to this over again. He said we made everything today haram haram haram which are not and this is changing religion of islam. Subhanallah, at the time he gave this lecture, muslim population was only 700 million in the world. Now look at it today. He said no muslim countries today is actually muslim country. We only call them muslim countries bcus majority are muslims. I am learning here faah. Finally he said, Western world is not the master of sciences. Nabi Muhammad was the master the modern science. Allah akbar. He said it is muslims that restricted everything by making this haram haram and haram is the reason the lack in science and technology. I understood this long ago actually. I estimate this lecture was given in 60s or early 70s bcus he died in 1974 I am sorry i gave much info before you watch it. Go ahead and watch it. 2 Likes |
