y wud he play his first team regulars in a meaningless match and risk injury to them when he has bigger fish to fry at d wknd. i really cant understand the rationale. now essien is injured and it cud have been worse if lets say drogba got injured. for sure, Fergie, wenger, benitez and even redknap wont try that stunt. watcha all think

Anceloti has gone two games without a win, so fielding a strong side at home in a so called meaningless match is completely understandable, just for his side to get on winning ways before the crucial home game against Everton. come to think of it, who would he really play that would mean to weaken his side?, unless you are suggesting he brings out all his academy players just to show how meaningless the game is. looking at the bench you would agree that he wanted to bring some of them on when he is already sure of victory. I guess its just a gamble that went wrong, thats football for you!!!!!!!!

now essien is out for 4weeks it surely isnt worth it. i think d man just want 2 create records for him self i.e unbeaten home records but at wat price
