A Nigerian Student Writes Open Memo To All FUTO Students by Claimitdone: 11:11pm On Mar 27, 2017 |
A Nigerian student on Tuesday, 21th March, addressed a letter to his fellow students urging them to come together and bring up individual suggestive reasons on why they should support their Student Functionaries, at this point in history. Read below: Federal University Of Technology Owerri, Futo. A Memo To All FUTO Students I had a discussion that lasted long yesterday with the SUG president at his lodge, in our discussion he said that the resumption date may or may not be postponed as the certainty of resuming on 3rd of April is 50% because of Easter. According to what he told me, the school management (senate) is now the sole director that would decide if school will resume on that date. Akano said, 'demanding for much deliberation with the school management may not be effectual as they(SUG) are working round clock to see that things are put in good shape than they were met' ( I commend this guys cos I worshipped at All Saints Chapel on Sunday 19th and viewed how the back of hostel C and D are now looking; yah it was done with a machine called Tractor and not with the African machine called Machete and Hoe). I think if all he told me will be implemented, their administration will sign out leaving Futo better. I equally made my own impactful contributions to him which I know if they are been adhered to will also contribute to enhancing the dignity of our most loving institution. I observed from him that he has a listening ear. We all know that for the cause of the agitation, anything good other than reducing the school fee for now may not be appreciated until the cause of the protest is resolved. For this reason I call on all imcumbent Stake holders, SRC members,Judiciary, Faculty and departmental excutives to come together and support the SUG without blaming one another which will only yield negative impact called 'hatred'; because they (all the student functionaries) were there when the cost of registration was been hiked. My fellow students, with love and respect we share together, we've blamed the SUG,SRC,Judiciary, departmental and Faculty excutives,Stake holders, etc., (not excluding anybody cos they all are the cause, thus they should not only tag the blame on SUG) for not working base on our (students) interest; please let's now give them a benefit of doubt by suggesting our own individual reasons why we should support them( all the student functionaries) and contribute our own quota for the betterment of ourselves and institution; because blaming the she goat or the he goat as the prime cause of the she goat's pregnancy will not change the immediate nature of both goats (both goats will suffer it). I call on you, I call on myself, I call on them, and I call on us to demonstrate maturity in making Futo the best place to be, because I was meant to understand that come good come worst,Futo students are the best ( over 70% intellectual giants). #longliveFutoStudents #longliveto-allfaculties #longliveto-all-Cometogether-a dherers. 08096223044 Victor O.
