Is Travelling Out Of Nigeria Only Way To Escape The Harsh Economic Situation? by boyo123(m): 7:00am On Jul 09, 2017 |
Recently i have been under lots of pressure from friends and family asking me to try and get a visa to leave the country, but i have declined i understand that things are not well organised in this country but travelling out to me is like putting yourself in an uncertain situation , you don't even know what to expect when you get there The most annoying for me is the fear of being denied a visa again after trying some years back I will prefer to rather put my money into a small business here in Nigeria no matter how small and try to grow from there At least i know some people that have travelled out of the country for years and when ever they come back home they still cant afford a house of their own, they stay with relatives that has never even been to Ghana before What is your opinion on these nairalanders 30 Likes 2 Shares |

Op some people travel out and make it but some don't. Likewise in naija, some people are making it in nigeria but some are not. I am a firm believer in the saying that if something is not working for you try something else. All the same, follow your heart. Goodluck 184 Likes 8 Shares |

boyo123: I like your thinking faculty. Just like mine. Take my case for example. All my male cousins had gone to Dubai. And we are all Graduates oo. And we even have up to 2-3 hand work each Take me for example. Im a certified Mobile and computer Engineer both hard and software. And also an Integrated plumber both domestic and industrial, also a graduate of Economic Same as all my cousin. We all had same hand work. To be sincere with u. I have not for a once envy their life over there. They have been asking me to come. So i started thinking. Leaving my business where im my own boss. Leaving all my professions and become a security guard in another mans land doesnt seems like an upgrade to me. Though im not very bouyant here. But i know future is bright. Most people out there are not that making it Most of them engage in illegal activities. Dont ever be carried away with those sweet pictures and selfies they take in fine places. Dont be decieved And if u have a Benin friend. It wont help matter. Those people dont believe they are human unless they travel out of naija. OP, reading your story i have to ask myself that hope am not the one that wrote this in my subconsciousness. i am also under pressure to get a visa and leave this country. I lost my job last year due to downsizing and i have tried some very small Businesses with what i had but at the end none is yielding, people owing me here and there. The economic environment is not friendly. In all sincerity, i do not really keen about travelling out but what other options do i have left now, i am in my late thirty with a family and we all need to survive. The few companies that are employing make tougher their recruitment Process due to large, unprecedented number of people in the labour market, this make it a bit hard to get a job now. There is no hope in sight that things will get better any time soon. Well, i am still trusting God on this before i take any decision. 33 Likes |
