RAINY SEASON: 6 IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO WHEN YOUR CELLPHONE GETS IN CONTACT WITH WATER.
1: TAKE PREVENTIVE MEASURES
Like the old saying "prevention is the best cure". Here comes the rainy season, make sure you take good care of your devices, unless your device is waterproof. If you get stuck in the middle of an heavy downpour, a good tip is to wrap your device in a waterproof bag.
2: REMOVE THE BATTERY IMMEDIATELY.
Once your phone gets in contact with water, the first thing you should do is to cut off power supply by removing the battery, this is to avoid anything from going wrong within the phone because water itself is a good conductor of electricity. However, If you use a device with an inbuilt battery switching off the device completely may help.
3: AVOID PLUGGING IN CHARGER
The phone may be switched off completely or dead after getting soaked with liquid, never fall for the temptation of plugging in charger. This will cause more harm to your device, because by doing that you will only succeed in getting vital components burnt.
4: LEAVE OUT TO DRY
There is a difference between water splashed on your phone and your phone got soaked with water. If its just a splash, then this tip will help otherwise skip this and
move to point 5. If water splashes on your phone, a good tip is to clean it up immediately with towel or handkerchief while facing the affected part downwards, then you can proceed to leave it out to dry before switching on the phone.
5: QUICKLY DISASSEMBLE THE DEVICE.
Act fast by disassembling and cleaning it up the best way you can, but be careful not to cause more damage to it. If you find it hard to disassemble, visit the nearest phone repair shop immediately, the token they may charge as service fee will save you a whole lot because if left unattended to, it may lead to damaging of vital parts of
the phone or even permanent damage to the entire phone.
6: FINALLY TRY THESE TIPS, IT WORKS.
Well if you are not a skilled person, do not try to disassemble your phone yourself as explained above. Instead try these tips they have worked for many.
(i) clean the soaked phone with towel, and then bury it in a bowl of dry rice for the next 24hours, the dry rice will help dry up your phone quickly.
(ii) bury your soaked phone in a bowl of alcohol for 5mins , the alcohol will penetrate inside the phone and drive out any drop of water, after that bring the phone out outdoor to dry for some few hours, the alcohol will evaporate quickly leaving your phone with no drop of water.
