Beaf:

Schumi is talented no doubt, but he is very very far from being the most talented in history. In fact, at his peak, he wouldn't have cut it against phenomenal talents like Lewis or the up and coming Alguesuari. He could hardly beat Alonso; do you recall how Monaco became a parking lot for him in his last attempt to cheat before retirement? That was because Alonso was doing a better qualifying lap.

His carreer is littered with underhand tactics, outright cheating and a lot of FIA mafioso style interventions. Thank goodness F1 is now rid of the nazi, mad Max Mosley --crosses self-- ; we can now see races as they truly pan out and accurately evaluate each drivers talent, a truely dark era in F1 came to a close with his ejection from the FIA. Rosberg is now roundly trouncing him in such a way that makes you wonder, where has all Michaels "talent" gone?

This is the most unbiased article of his controversies you will ever find (others are much worse and scathing) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Schumacher#Controversy
W.T.F shocked shocked shocked. Hamilton my ass. Hamilton himself, is he free of controversy in his short career, from spygate to liegate e.t.c. I know you like Hamilton but it is disrespectful to even try an allege Schumi wouldn't have cut it against Hamilton, not to mention Alguesuari in his prime.

Schumi was / is talented no doubt, but is totally overrated and overhyped (as Rosberg is proving). Its my opinion that Alguesuari would beat Rosberg in the same car (just as Rosberg is now beating Schumacher).

Yes Lewis isn't free from controversy, but it was from McLaren cheating (as all F1 teams do), rather than him deciding on his own to cheat. Spygate had nothing at all to do with Lewis, if you recollect, it was the emails between Alonso and Pedro de la Rosa that incriminated McLaren, Lewis was just a new boy to F1 then (1st year). He didn't even have to say a word in the French court.

Schumi, on the other hand, never needed prompting to cheat. . .

I believe Red Bull and McLaren are sandbagging and might show their true pace tomorrow.

as much as M.Schumacher has been wrong "sometimes"(who hasnt?), his record speaks for itself.  to even compare him with ANYONE in F1 today is a joke. the problem is that M S came back from retirement and this has tainted his record a little but nobody should forget what this guy stands for.

let any of these young blood win 4/5 championship and THEN we can discuss this issue . . . . . . . . until then, lets just enjoy Spain this weekend.

Alonso grows wings in Valencia.
Re: Any F1 Buffs? by Nobody: 12:21am On Jun 26, 2010
yep, that new Ferrari looks preeeeeeeeeeeeetty fast, although Massa has been a let down!
lets see how the qualifying goes tomorrow~!
Re: Any F1 Buffs? by agabaI23(m): 1:39am On Jun 26, 2010
There has been a marked improvement for Alonso in particular over the last 2 races and now this one. Qualifying is going to be interesting tomorrow

Ferrari, mercedes as well as renault now have blown diffuser which has been helping redbull while maclaren have none of such update.

E go sweet!

I go remember boring world cup after the qualifying lol
Re: Any F1 Buffs? by Beaf: 10:51am On Jun 26, 2010
. . .Just watching 3rd and final practise.

It looks like its gonna be between the Red Bulls and Alonso (Massa is misfiring), with Kubica and Rosberg filling in. Its gonna be a long, sad weekend for McLaren.

Also, watch out for the Force Indias, this weekend might spring a few surprises.
Re: Any F1 Buffs? by agabaI23(m): 11:30am On Jun 26, 2010
What is wrong with Maclaren sad? Have they started practice 3?
Re: Any F1 Buffs? by Beaf: 11:40am On Jun 26, 2010
Practice 3 is finished. Button came 9th and Lewis was 10th. It is going to be a really tough weekend of tears for them and all McLaren fans, except they are sandbagging (very doubtful).

Here's the latest viral video of a trick McLaren played on both their drivers. It's turned out they both genuinely didn't know they were being had! grin

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zf40OzfwOo&hl=en_GB&fs=1&[/flash]

I'll see if I can get the video from the filming Alonso did last week.
Re: Any F1 Buffs? by Beaf: 1:45pm On Jun 26, 2010
Mercedes "blown diffuser" seems to have blown their chances! Rosberg and Scumacher haven't made it into Q3 (Rosberg 12th and Scumacher 15th in Q2).
Re: Any F1 Buffs? by DisGuy: 1:59pm On Jun 26, 2010
have you noticed how Hamilton keep getting in front of button during qualifiers, like button is always relying on strategy and mother luck- at least he cant complain on not getting the same car as Hamilton

Vettle edges Webber

Lewis is in a totally different class from Button. I think he is by far the best out there.
Re: Any F1 Buffs? by DisGuy: 2:16pm On Jun 26, 2010
he's a thorough-breed

i wonder what happened to him in the final corner he didnt get his brakes right, would do better in between the red bulls than moody Alonso

For some reason ive always thought Alonso will take Hamilton out whenever he gets the chance but he hasnt-not yet anyway, perhaps he's not as bad as i thought

Yeah, it could have been a surprise poll position if not for those errors (he did the same at the first corner).

Poor Alonso, he really hasn't helped himself with his tantrums! I don't think he'll be shunting Lewis off the road because it will be the final nail in peoples opinions about his character and will likely affect his carreer (just as blackmailing McLaren slowed his progess into Ferrari).
Moodiness and F1 don't match, an example is the talented Montoya who faffed of to those boring US circuits in a red rage. He would have been among the top guy's now, if he'd had a cooler head.

There was a recent interview with the Spanish press in which Alonso and Lewis were asked exactly the same question, "would you have Lewis / Alonso as your team mate again? Lewis said, yes he would, that their previous experience had been interesting. Alonso's answer was a single word; "No".
Re: Any F1 Buffs? by agabaI23(m): 2:33pm On Jun 26, 2010
@Beaf, it appears the maclarens were not that bad after all. Ham could have finished better if not for that breaking incidence. Vettel and weber will cancel themselves out tomorrow as usual. Ham will make it 3/3 in a row

Surprise! They were sandbagging all that time.
Valencia is a difficult track to overtake on and Lewis has some of grids most aggressive drivers ahead, so I'm a bit cautious about Lewis chances of an outright win. But if there's driver who can do it, its the best overtaker in F1, Lewis.

you are right. If he does not crash out he may finish second. Home advantage did not help Alonso after all.

he's having a very bad day he was taking too much advantage of the slipstream

many of them are taking advantage of teh safety car refuelling and changing car parts already

advantage button

Lewis has taken the opportunity to change his damaged front wing. Jenson is lucky again!!!!
Re: Any F1 Buffs? by Beaf: 1:24pm On Jun 27, 2010
Button is now 4th and Alonso is 10th. Shame!
I see Heikki getting a huge sanction out of this, cos he moved across the racing line more than once.

really bad crash thank goodness for the overall safety of the sports
Re: Any F1 Buffs? by DisGuy: 1:36pm On Jun 27, 2010
I can still see a crash in this one, the corners are a bit trick and very congested, lots of driver are making moves near the corners
Re: Any F1 Buffs? by agabaI23(m): 1:44pm On Jun 27, 2010
Was Webber on drugs? A bad day for him really!
Hopefully Ham will not get a penalty!

He was penalised. Drive through penalty sad However he came out still second albeit 15 sec behind Vettel
