Politics is a very useless business - Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan

Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan who doused speculations about a political rift between him and Governor Seriake Henry Dickson of Bayelsa State, on Wednesday has described politics as a very useless business.

The 59-year-old former president described politics revealed that when he reads what people write about him on social media, he laughs.

He made the clarification, during a condolence visit by Dickson in his Otuoke home to commiserate with him on the death of the Paramount Ruler of Otuoke Community, HRH King Lot Justin Ogiasa.

He said:

“Let me on behalf of the community thank you for making the visit, because of the relationship we have.

You wanted to come immediately, but said it would be waste for the governor to come when the date for the burial has not been announced.

For me politics is a very useless business. When I see the kind of things people write about me on the social media, I just laugh.

For Bayelsa State, I feel sad because we are not many and we are not heterogeneous.

It is a state that we also know ourselves. I have no reason to say that I am competing with the governor; by the grace of God, I became Deputy Governor, Governor and President.

There is no way I can sit anywhere and plan anything against Bayelsa state or the governor.

“When I was dreaming of becoming Governor, Dickson was among the few in the meetings we were holding. He was not in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), but he agreed to help it.

He didn’t want to join the PDP, but I virtually forced him.

“When I became Governor, I appointed Dickson Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice and that was how he became a PDP member and later became a member of the House of Representatives and so on…There is no way I will break my relationship with the Governor.”

Shatta Wale says he doesn't see anything extraordinary about Nigerian musician, Wizkid who has collaborated with A-lister international musicians including Drake, Tinie Tempah, Chris Brown, Trey Songz, French Montana, Kranium, Ty Dolla $ign, Justine Skye, Swiss Beatz among others.

Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale says multi award-winning Nigerian singer, Wizkid is not a superstar.

“I will not see Wizkid and be stunned, I rather want him to see me and be amazed because I don’t see anything extraordinary about him, even though he claims to the best African artiste…”He said on Kasapa FM.

Shatta Wale, real name Charles Nii Armah added that he is not bragging about his wealth or competing with anyone but it's high time Ghanaian artistes respect themselves and stop rating Nigerian artistes into the sky.

Earlier this month, the Dancehall King revealed in an interview that  he is worth approximately over ten million dollars after putting in intense hard work in his musical career.



Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun,27, popularly called Wizkid won the Best African Male Artiste award at the just ended 2017 All African Music Awards (AFRIMA)which was held in Lagos on Sunday, November 11, 2017.

Wizkid has collaborated with A-lister international musicians including Drake, Tinie Tempah, Chris Brown, Trey Songz, French Montana, Kranium, Ty Dolla $ign, Justine Skye, Swiss Beatz and Efya.

The Igbo National Council, INC, has demanded that the position of the Vice President, currently occupied by Prof. Yemi Osinbajo (South West) be given to an Igbo man if President Muhammdu Buhari truely values the supports of the people of the South East in the next election.

This followed the proposed plan for President Buhari to visit Southeast states.

In a statement in Owerri, the Imo State capital, the INC President, Chilos Godsent, said it was the only way the ruling party could get the votes of the people of the region in the 2019 general elections.

According to Godsent, under the All Progressives Congress, APC, the region has been deliberately marginalized.

The statement read, “The Igbo National Council INC has long x-rayed the performances of PMB and also the fulfillment of their campaign promises to Southeast region.

“The INC is of the view that the PMB-led federal government has abysmally failed the Southeast due to marginalization of the zone by the government.
“Consequently, INC’s condition for the South East to support PMB for second term is that APC should zone its Vice President ticket to South East.”

Ghanaian actress, Juliet Ibrahim has warned her boyfriend, Nigerian rapper, Iceberg Slim, concerning their relationship – she says her nationals will deal with him should he dump her.

The mother-of-one who was once married to Kwadwo Sarfo, says Ghanaians will deal with musician Iceberg Slim, born Olusegun Olowokere, if he decides to end their relationship.
