Kwesé launched in Nigeria on October 19 and in the highly competitive pay-TV market, these are the things you need to know about this new entrant that looks like a strong contender for the market leadership position with DStv.

1. It has 3 Different Platforms

Kwesé can be watched via the traditional dish and decoder, with the Kwesé app on Android and iOS and the streaming device called Kwesé Play (only in South Africa for now).

2. The Kwesé app Gives You Free Channels to Watch

You get to watch some free channels if you download the Kwesé app on your smartphone. These channels are currently available in Nigeria, ITV Network, KTN News, Spurs TV, LFC TV, CITY TV, Arsenal Media, Kwesé Free Sports Africa, Kwesé Free Sports.

3. You can watch Kwesé Free Sports on Terrestrial Television

Kwesé Free Sports is available on UHF 32 if you are in Lagos and on digital platforms where their partners DMS formerly DBN are available. They only break from Kwesé a few times in the morning and evening, so you can watch some premium content like 1 English Premier League match per week and Anthony Joshua vs. Carlos Takam totally free.

4. Price of Decoder and Dish

The Kwesé decoder alone goes for N 5,740 and the decoder plus dish and installation costs N10,960.

Kwesé Free Sports has exclusive free-to-air rights to the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia and the English Premier League. Although this means they can only show one EPL match per week.

TStv will be better than this. I am waiting for TStv on November 1st. We need more competition though.
