DieVluit:Outdated and poorly researched articles does not carry any weight, isnt it this same 'poorly fed and underequipped' troops that have been pushing boko haram back into gwoza and sambisa forest in the past three months?,if the NA didnt have jets and helicopters as alleged by the article, what are they using in their continous bombardment and aerial assault in the north-east,the air force has conducted over 5000 aerial bombardment on boko haram bases and hideouts,in the last five months,i say again, what are they using in conducting these assaults?,kites?,hot-air balloons?...seriously,you embarrase yourself whenever you attempt to think and then write.no wonder south africa has stagnated! |

ActivateKruger:And there's a minimum acceptable level of logic here. If one presents a source, do not assume it has been thrashed before, it doesn't matter how often it has been said. Fact is fact,no matter how worn. Also simple truths don't always need source, it just a tactless and lousy excuses you fools use to deny truth. Paper tigers. |

ActivateKruger:says who, thief? The article said your neighbours would wipe you off at a go. Also, your imaginary military strength was during apatheid when the afrikaans were stocking weapons in the even of a military coup or armed struggled. After the apatheid era those weapons deteriorated without accomplishing any international military glory. During the Lybia crisis, the international press knew China was a paper Tiger. I was expecting your troops there since your government was making so much noise. But we know you guys are cowards with no molitary glory. You keep looking for military battles Internationally credited to SA, i wish you good luck in your search. |

China kitted and supplied the Libyan forces with military hardware and their tools proved a no match for the Liberation rebels. That was during so much international hype of China's new military strength and equipment. So everyone was waiting for some kind of action. postmann: You can just read the bold parts if you wish to get the facts faster. www.timeslive.co.za/specialreports/stinvestigations/2013/11/13/rooivalk-plays-key-role-in-routing-rebels In a fortnight of fighting in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, Congolese army troops drove the rebels from their strongholds. M23's shelling of civilians prompted the 3000- strong UN force, which includes 1345 South African troops, to join the final battle this week. General Carlos Alberto dos Santos Cruz, commander of the UN forces, told the Sunday Times that the Rooivalk had proved its worth. Last Sunday, the rebels bombed the town of Bunagana, killing six civilians and injuring 10. "It was important to silence their weapons, using a combination of artillery and helicopters," said Cruz. The Rooivalk went into action on Monday against the rebel positions. Cruz said the Rooivalk had "performed very well as reinforcement to the mission" and would be deployed in future attacks. "They are very good aircraft - very precise with very good technology. We need this kind of fire power for our missions." The attack on Monday marked the end of the 20- month M23 rebellion. On Monday evening, African heads of state meeting in Pretoria, including Congo president Joseph Kabila, issued a joint declaration that the M23 must publicly renounce its rebellion. By Tuesday morning, the Congolese army occupied all key M23 positions around Bunagana. Bunagana is 80km north of Goma, which was shelled by M23 rockets in August before the rebels were driven off strategic hills overlooking the town by an offensive that left three South Africans wounded. South African special forces troops said this week that they had used mortar and sniper fire to dislodge the rebels. "They fled to Rwanda after we took their positions," said a South African soldier. By late this week, the charred remains of M23 military vehicles were the only visible signs of these battles. Life is returning to normal in these towns after more than a year under M23 occupation. Markets are thronging with people and peasants are returning from their fields carrying grass, wood and sugar cane or pushing chukudus, the wooden bikes used in the Congo to transport goods. "Life was going from bad to worse under M23," said Amos Kambale, a teacher in Rutshuru. "They would charge taxes on lorries driving through here. And when they arrived many people were killed, so we felt very unsafe." "People are very happy about this defeat," said Goma lawyer Tresor Kitsongo, "but the problem has not been solved. We need real peace, but if the government doesn't want to develop the country there will be another rebellion." 1 Like |

patches689: South Africa too has thousands of old outdated 1980s generation weapons and 1950s aircraft, we have posted that many times here and tired of repeating them. Nigeria has the biggest and most modern artillery weapons in sub-saharan Africa, Bofors FH-77 and Palmaria SPHA Nigeria has the biggest, most powerful, most sophisticated ISTAR aircraft force is Africa, even Egypt is behind us by far. Nigeria has battalions of amphibious armoured fighting vehicles, while South African army is equipped for dry land warfare only. Nigerian army air defence missiles have ceiling/altitude of 5km while South African army air defence missile ceiling/altitude is only 1km Nigeria is the only country from Cape Town to Cairo that has military use spy satellites to watch a whole country from space and locate all their heavy weapons from thousands of kilometers away with pin point accuracy of lacation. Nigeria has the most experienced army in Africa as at today 2014. I think you are very lazy to do simple research. Also, the current aircraft arsenal of Nigerian air force is NOT published, 4th Genration and ultra-modern jet fighters were delivered last month and the Air force chief said they will be shown to public later. |

Both have greater range. Both are more advanced. Nigeria has the biggest, most powerful, most sophisticated ISTAR aircraft force is Africa, even Egypt is behind us by far. Egypt has 160 known drones, they also have two Northrop Grumman E-2 Hawkeye You have one nice asset, they have a better system of assets. conclusion: Egypt is superior Nigerian army air defence missiles have ceiling/altitude of 5km while South African army air defence missile ceiling/altitude is only 1km Starstreak 2 has a range of over 6km and an altitude of 5km - we have just received our orders of Starstreak 2 http://www.deagel.com/Surface-to-Air-Missiles/Starstreak_a001059001.aspx Our SAM's are more modern, advanced and leathal than yours. Nigeria has battalions of amphibious armoured fighting vehicles, while South African army is equipped for dry land warfare only. The MPLA and Cubans had battalions as well, they didnt help them. Pro-tip: Amphibious vehicals have less armour Pro-tip: We have bridge layers Nigeria also does not have: - a data-link - a pure blood 4th gen fighter - submarines - advanced missile armed frigates - tactical vehicles - mine clearance devices - standardized MGL's and AGL's - precision munitions - dedicated attack helicopters - modern ATGM's - modern IFVs (or even a plan to get some) - modern transport helo's - capacity for EW warfare - CRAM - modern or modernized armour - standardized equipment - You also dont have enough MRAP's and Radios - you use the AK-47 It has been an absolute pleasure obliterating your post 2 Likes

http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/more-news/169909-iran-offers-nuclear-technology-to-nigeria.html iran is offering nuclear technology, for 'peaceful' of course,if we begin utilizing this technology, mostly for power generation at present,in the future, when we are economically potent and influential enough to weather down the combined sanctions of western powers,we could covertly use some of the nuclear reactors in propagating a nuclear trigger, and we all know nuclear trigger=nuclear bomb in a few months. http://www.armyrecognition.com/nigeria_uk/nigeria_nigerian_army_land_ground_forces_military_equipment_armoured_vehicle_pictures_information_de.html this site contain a list of some of the NA weapons{though not an updated list as it didnt make mention of many new inventories like the helicopters, and tanks},but mentions a significant few.nigeria has the best aerial defence in africa, and has the most secured airspace.nigeria is the only african country with cloud-penetrating spy satallite.why do saffers bother? 1 Like |

patches689: It's your pleasure telling open lies at random. The archives of this forum proves you wrong. Egypt had their last ISTAR upgrade around 2008, Nigeria upgraded 2013. Egypt has no aircraft to match Nigerian Beechcraft and Surveyor aircraft. NAF beats the whole of Africa in ISTAR, Egypt is under our spy satellite network like a TV, we watch them, but they cannot see us. Nigeria has both version A and version B of Bofors, we got them in batches, some 1980s some year 2000s, they are the worlds best artillery systems, Swedish arty is world leader. SANDF has ONLY Starstreak I version and ceiling is max 1km, one of the worst in Africa. SANDF has no CRAM capability and no Badger IFV in service today as in your posted photo, or else Nigeria too has T-84 Oplot tanks, get it ? Your Submarines and data-link has not helped you arrest one single pirate after 2 years of patrolling the oceans . 1 Like |
