FighterPilot: These Nigerians must shut their mouth up and defeat Book Haram which walks tall right in their backyards. Stop talking too much and convince us once and for all. The whole world pity you because of the rag tag army you possess. The superpowers have vowed to help you because you are as weak as a baby. You are undoubtedly not equal to a task when it comes to protecting your own citizens, you have failed at every aspect. Failure is written all over your faces.

South Africans let us stop entertaining this so called imaginary strong Nigerian force which failed to prove itself to their critiques to the extent that we all in the whole world went down in tears, sobbing for defenseless citizens of northern Nigeria. Nigeria has a weak army, that's my final statement, same as that of US generals and Obama, Ugandan president, prime minister of UK, and many experts across the world. That's a shame, seeing the force claimed to be the strongest in Africa being humbled and outsmarted by just mere amateurs right on their backyard where they are supposed to have projected their power. Where all their equipments, hardware and personnel are based. Where they do not need any logistical support to transport their force and arms to another country. Shame!!! Book Haram has hung the whole uniform of Nigerian military on the tree for all to see, no wonder they want to change their already disgraced uniform. Shame!!!!
Shame!!! Shame!!! Shame!!!!!

The only thing we can ever remember about Nigerian army is by fleeing from war zones leaving citizens in mercy of the enermy. As we speak today dated 4th of August, 2014, the whole town of Damboa right in Nigerian soil is under a complete control of Boko Haram. What a weakest. Nigeria has far more superior command and control structure than you can dream of.

South Africa has superior command and control over Namibia, NOT Nigeria.

Dude, you mean Algeria that spends on weapons many times more than South Africa has no data-links for Algerian military ?

SIPRI or UN arms log will not record any country's data-links installations because it is NOT a weapon or combat equipment, it is a mere satellite two way communication network of data linked together on a number of equipment like aircraft, ships, and vehicles at the same time.

You SA guys make it sound like data links is a nuclear weapon....All South Africans dumbo domingos grin grin

See, Nigeria has data links but we don't make noise about it, sure Egypt will have..or how do they match Israel. Sure Algeria will have from their multi-billion dollar defence budget.

Now look....Nigeria has ISR aircraft that have data-links that are connected to many ground stations and other different equipment. At Nigeria's level of sophistication, our 3 armed forces can exchange information on-line real time via data-links from aircraft to warships to ground stations and major ground equipment.

In case you dont know, data-links depends 100% on satellite network and Nigeria is far ahead of South Africa in satellite technology, so it means Nigeria has satellites and supports it's data-links by them, but South Africa has NO single satellite and therefore depends on another country's satellites to connect SANDF data-links, the day you offend them, they just disconnect your data-link and you enter hot pepper soup.

You Soweto guys here are NOT telecoms or satcoms experts, so stop yapping about data-links when you know next to nothing about the detailed engineering of how it actually works.

You don't know that even different types of data links that are totally different and irrelevant to each other, can be integrated to work together via a coordinating translator/correlator. So you guys should stop claiming to be experts of a technology that you know less than 1% of.

Nigeria has data-links and includes both fixed and mobile ground stations data-link network integrated systems as well as linked to different weapons/equipment/platforms including our very small ISR Diamond aircraft you do not even know about....

2013 upgrade contract with U.S. Navy & Private Contractor

Nigerian Air Force upgrades Diamond intelligence aircraft
Posted by: Ade Tayo in Latest News 08/05/2013

The U.S. Navy is working with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to enhance their intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities by upgrading equipment on two Diamond DA-42 aircraft and associated ground stations, according to contract documents released Monday through the Federal Business Opportunities website.

The Navy is seeking a contractor to upgrade ISR equipment on two DA-42 Diamond Twin Star aircraft, data links and antennas of existing fixed ground stations, and provide two new portable ground stations, training, optional spares and an optional Field Service Representative.

All modifications, testing, delivery, and training shall be performed in Nigeria, the Navy said in contract documents.

The contractor will be responsible for uninstalling all existing aircraft and fixed ground station ISR equipment made obsolete by the upgraded equipment, the Navy said. This equipment shall remain the property of the NAF."

SAAF Hawk jets have never killed a mosquito, NAF Alpha jets have been flying recce and ground attack from 20 years ago till today...Liberia, Sierra Leone, Mali, North East Nigeria.

Who has a better experienced air force today 2014, not on past glory ? Nigeria !

That is about 60 helicopters in NAF on SIPRI alone for purchases from year 2000 to 2013 only. I did not add 6 units new Mi-35M Hind E, squadron of Bell Rangers, squadron of R66 Robinsons, and the 40 new helicopters from USA/Russia arriving this month.

Nigerian air force (Not counting Navy helicpoters one squadron, not counting any NAF reserves two squadrons) will have about 120 helicopters rocking the skies....Biggest force in Sub-Saharan Africa !

.
SAAF has more than 150 helicopter when we include unoperational reserve squadrons.

Maybe you are in jail and don't have access to Tv news.

Nigerian army has wiped out a whole forest full of Boko Haram bases in Balmo forest, every living thing called Boko in that forest was attacked by Nigerian army and were k.illed or captured with all their weapons seized. SANDF has not been to war for 20 years till now, untested cowards grin.

Nigeria is fighting an Islamic insurgency, yes a war 10 times more difficult than South African bush war Vs Cuba in Angola.

The worlds best military in terms of war records of victory is the Israeli army and air force. The Israelis with all their world class military might have lost about 64 soldiers k.illed by the Islamic Jihadists you talk about. In 30 days, Israeli army lost 64 soldiers including over 20 Majors, Captains, Lieutenants, and Non-Commissioned officers, all in 30 days. May they rest in peace as true heroes.

Nigerian army casualty rate is less than that of Israeli army, and now we are rated as the best COIN war fighters in Africa, even Egypt cannot match us.

If South African army fights the kind of war Nigeria and Israel is fighting, SANDF will lose 1,000 soldiers in one month. Your army has zero experience in fighting an 'invisble' enemy that mixes with civilians and wears civilian clothes.

SANDF officers came to Nigerian army school this year for COIN lessons, we learn war, we teach lazy cowards like SANDF who ran away from Seleka rebels that they can even see, a clearly visible enemy ....Soweto cowards grin

No, that photos is Bofos FH-77A of Nigerian army NOT FH-77B version.

We have 25 units FH-77A older version and 48 units FH-77B newer longer range version. Nigeria has total 73 units of Bofors FH-77 both types.
