AGAIN, ANIOMA IS A SOUTHEAST IGBO STATE. THEY ARE AS MUCH SOUTHEAST AS ANAMBRA, ENUGU AND EBONYI. SE WILL GET MORE ALLOCATION FROM ANIOMA THAN ETITI, BECAUSE ANIOMA IS AN OIL PRODUCING STATE ENTITLED TO DERIVIATIVES. AGAIN, NDIANAMBRA ARE DOING BUSINESS AN LIVING IN ASABA. AGAIN, A STATE IS AN INDEPENDENT ENTITY, ONCE CREATED, LIKE A BABY BORN THE UMBILICAL CORD IS SEVERED, ANAMBRA HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM AND SO TOO THE OTHER 4 STATES. AT THE END OF THE DAY IF ETITI STATE IS NOT VIABLE, IT BECOMES A BURDEN ON SE REGION AND A POINT OF REFERENCE FOR FEDERAL GOV AGAINST FURTHER STATE CREATION IN THE SE. U WOULD HAVE SUCCESSFULLY BOXED YOURSELF TO CREATING STATE OUT OF THE 5 SE STATES. ANIOMA WILL NOW FOREVER BE SS AND U CANNOT EVEN GO INTO BENUE ANYMORE. I TOLD U THAT U DONT KNOW ANYTHING AND SO TOO YOUR POLITICAL REPS. SHORTSIGHTED! 5 Likes 1 Share |

kikake: Seems you consume too much beer parlour history. Let me ask you... What did Owerri take, and from whom? Owerri is the capital of Imo State. It's right for Owerri to house most State government institutions as the State Capital. Meanwhile, your deliberate lies cannot change the fact that for the past 20 years, the Orlu cabal have been manipulating the entire Imo State in the following ways: ππΎ Frustrating every efforts to rotate government in Imo State. Which is why all Governors since 1999 except Ohakim and Udenwa, are from Orlu. Orlu held power for 20 years while Owerri zone and Okigwe zone haven't seen 8 years in government house. ππΎ Those Orlu governors took everything from all parts of Imo and relocated them to Orlu zone. An example is the teaching hospital and the school of nursing (which were situated in the capital at Owerri). ππΎ Orlu has planned for years to rob Imo State dry and breakaway to create their own State. It will not work though. ππΎ If your beer parlour lies are true, then you should hold your Orlu brothers accountable because they have been the ones governing from Owerri since Nigeria's return to Democracy. What we need is Anioma State. Orlu State, Etiti State and Adada State are useless acts of balkanization of Igbo land. Anioma offers hope for a better future for all of us as Igbo people. 4 Likes |

ChukwuEmeka00: Much of this is correct except the emboldened. Udenwa is from the Orlu zone too. Infact, from Orlu LGA proper. By the conclusion of Uzodimma's 2nd term in 2027, the Orlu zone would have ruled Imo for almost 24 of 28 years since 1999. The Okigwe zone would have had only Ohakim's 4-year term. And the Owerri zone would have been in power for just over 7 months after Ihedioha was deposed. The Orlu zone's cries of marginalization in Imo state is the most laughable, shameless and simply deranged political stunt I've ever seen in Nigerian politics. People who cry "marginalization" in Nigerian politics tend to be ignored and neglected with no political power, but I've never seen where a people who are the dominant political players in a state are the ones crying marginalization. It's made me see them as greedy, manipulative, dishonest and very toxic and has definitely turned me off their statehood quest - which I hope fails catastrophically. Imagine your appeal for statehood being "our own sons in leadership have misgoverned the state for donkey years, so you should reward us with a new state (including a big chunk of Anambra) and make our LGA the capital of the state, so that we can monopolize the resources and dominate everyone like we've been accusing Owerri people of doing" 3 Likes |

Obi1kenobi: This Mba5 bloke who in some places claims that he is from Anambra State. Are you here again badmouthing Orlu? FYI, it's the SC who deposed former gov Ihedioha, not anyone from Orlu. What has Orlu zone benefited from Imo state? Okorocha was voted into office by Owerri votes at the crucial supplementary election. He worked for Owerri but left Orlu and his Ideato devastated. Your bitterness over the name Orlu, has no limits, has no basis. Easy. 1 Like |

As for Anioma being a SE state, it's just a pipe dream. It would conceive of itself as a 7th SS state. I don't think people here understand how deep the Igbophobia of Ukwuani people in particular runs, and Ika people definitely don't see themselves as Igbo. And it has even infected parts of Oshimili. Ndi Aniocha are the only reliable allies of Ndigbo among Anioma people. I wish there was a serious state creation movement to merge Igbo communities in southern Benue with Northern Enugu and Ebonyi. They also happen to be highly impoverished, neglected areas which could do with state-level funding. But there is honestly no attractive state creation movement. The proposed Etiti state looks a jumbled mess. Overall, Anioma seems the best of the bad options. |

Stolen: You have to stop this. If there are Igbo people in some local government areas in Benue, let them speak up. We have to stop dabbling into the affairs of people uninvited. Have you ever, in your life, heard any call from the so-called Igbo communities in Benue to rejoin their Igbo brothers in Enugu? If those guys are not clamouring for such, why are you disturbing yourself? Is it until they call you attachee-by-force or land grabber before you go get sense? So far, only Ned Nwoko from the Enuani part of Anioma has spoken about creating a new state to join the East. All these phantom Igbo communities you guys are claiming in Benue, Edo, Akwa Ibom and Rivers states are just unnecessary, self inflicted stress. 5 Likes |

Stolen: Igbos are underdoing themselves in the state creation matter, right from 2006 when many other Nigerians started to see the need for additional state in the southeast. Today, even the Isuikwuator Abia state born Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Reps has revived the roguish demand for Etiti state for sixth state in the southeast. Etiti state means cutting down Ebonyi and Enugu states into 11 to 13 local government areas each, Abia cut down to 15 local government areas, but have Imo state of 25 local government areas, so that the Deputy Speaker will have his Etiti State where he will become lord. He wants to set aside the long proposed Njaba or Orlu state to be cut from the 12 local government areas of Imo West Senatorial district joined to any willing number of local government areas in Anambra south. A sixth state for the southeast naturally belongs to, and supposed to be located, between Anambra and Imo States, or cut from any of the two states. 1 Like |

Stolen: Your response does not correlate with my statement. Igbos having more states is not my problem. I only adviced you to stop stressing yourself over the so-called Igbo people/communities in Benue, Akwa Ibom, Edo etc. Those people have never indicated interest in joining their brothers in the East, why then should you be bothered about them? In Anioma, it's Ned Nwoko, our senator that is clamouring for Anioma state to be the 6th state in the South East. That is what I expect from these so-called Igbo people in all these other states that you have been mentioning. Why should the ever busy Anambra business man start clamouring for Anioma state when Anioma has its representatives that should do that for them? Why should the Enugu man be speaking up for the communities in Benue to rejoin their Eastern brothers when those communities have traditional rulers that can do all the speaking? As far as Nigeria is concerned, Nd'igbo should learn to mind their business to avoid unnecessary insults and embarrassment. As for the Eastern Representatives and their usual show of shame in presenting 3 - 4 states at the House of Reps, this is where Ohaneze Ndigbo was supposed to come in. That group is supposed to be the point of contact for the Igbo people culturally and politically but they are just so useless. This is the time when the Ohaneze's Ime Obi will call for an Igbo meeting in Enugu where representatives, senators, governors and some prominent traditional rulers will meet for proper dialogue and discussion on the state that should be created as the 6th state in the SE but no, the only time you will see Ohaneze is when they are complaining about political appointment at the federal level. 2 Likes |

Unbiased1: Taking Orumba North and South federal constituency in Anambra State, and local govt area in Abia state, to Orlu State proposal was a mere gimmick by the proposers. These areas shall be expunged from Orlu State proposal during the next Parliamentary reading. The two local govt areas of Anambra South - Ihialla and Nnewi South - that were originally in Old Orlu Division have always featured for Njaba State proposal which is now renamed Orlu state. Some of you don't know, or feign ignorance of the fact of the Constitutional requirements for a Referendum to be conducted in the areas demanding a new state. Orlu state proposal shall get a resounding yes in a Referendum, while your Etiti proposal will be rebuffed by most of the local government areas conscripted into Etiti state proposal; most of those local government areas hardly shared any traditional or political ties, and have been in different states, since East Central State was divided in 1976. By the way, what mineral resources do you have to fund Etiti state? Federal allocations? Manpower? What businesses or industries exist there? The area is the most scantily populated in Igbo land. Or do you want to rob Peter to pay Paul? 1 Like |
