The rate at which Igbo men beat their wife is alarming. Even more alarming is the rate at which they kill their wife. The only thing i care about is that all Igbo men will be tag with that standard as wife beater or killer. Pleas umunne m, let us do something to educate Igbo men that it is better to leave the marriage than end up killing a woman that was handed to you in good faith by her family. She is someone sister, daughter, aunty first before your wife. If they did not take care of her, u will not see her and like to marry her. Some of us are complaining that Igbo women marry foreign men more than any other women from other tribe. Based on media reporting, i am starting to see that some of our igbo men are idiots. Lion in the house, is the greatest cowardice. Let us discuss ways to put a stop to this and the appropriate punishment for offenders. I am really disgusted. https://www.lindaikejisblog.com/2018/9/after-19-days-of-marriage-your-husband-beat-you-to-death-with-with-a-baby-in-your-womb-lady-mourns-the-death-of-her-best-friend.html

Something must be done to put the fear of God in these killers. Perhaps psychiatric testing before marriage. Or we actually parade such killers on the street and burn dem alive after severely beating them. Educate all male child on women and how to cope with their moods or leave their environment if it is getting out of hand or too much for u. Beating is never acceptable, becos she is not your child but your wife. Killing is never acceptable, even if she is cheating or the kids are not yours. It is always better to end the marriage and walk away. Marriage is not by force or age in Igbo land. It is not competition, but wen u feel ready and matured for it. There are plenty of other girls out there. |

Lion in the house. It is not by force to get married and marriage is not competition. Marriage is not for everybody either. It is not compulsory that everybody marry. Women are women, if u are a man, u manage them, if u are a boy, stay single. |

nnamdijonathan: My brother, u are a very brave man and a good man for even daring to discuss this. I will not doubt you are Igbo again. Others came viewed it and walk away, one came and started talking nonsense wen we have a bigger issue to discuss. The guy is from Imo state and the woman is also from Imo state. They are Igbo. I am sick to death of the frequency with which these cowards beat and even kill our sisters. |
Re: . by hammer6F: 8:20pm On Sep 28, 2018 |
Why must everything Igbo be negatively different. Some will born children but cannot train them. They will leave them to be empty in the head and be misbehaving. Ordinary history, some igbo parents cannot open their mouth to discuss with their children. Some will not teach dem Igbo culture or language. Then later, the useless children will start disgracing us. 1 Like 1 Share |

It is not everytime we come here, we will be discussing Politics and Economics. No way, we have to discuss sociology. We have to go deep into social problems afflicting Igbo families and address them. Otherwise any development we are discussing is pointless. 2 Likes |

hammer6F: Honestly Igbo parents are kinda trying when it comes to training of their children at least compared to other tribes. The problem of Igbo men beating their wives is not too common like that, as for me, I have never seen an Igbo man who beats his wife, even the ones on social media that beat their wives are not really much in number. The only major trend about Igbo men now is the rate at which they marry white women which is currently on the rise. 1 Like 1 Share |

hammer6F:Oga what exactly are you up and about? How the misguided foolishnes of an insignificant and unknown dudes now became a general avenue to foster the usual Igbo bashing and demonisation.Igbos are human like other races but we still have our values up there to the chargin of the detractors like you.Are you looking for Igbo stories? Scroll back th last 20 pages and feed yourself. We have not arrived but we are making inroads individually and collectively. Take a glance at the Nigerian female basketball team at the ongoing FIBA championships? 90% are Igbos! That's something to cheer about while we strive to flush out those murderers you refer to in our midst. I've been around for a while but have only seen one Igbo man beat his wife all my life and he didn't end well. 8 Likes 4 Shares |

It usually has this calming effect, which is almost therapeutic like. Taking a walk inside this pine forest is an experience worth taking periodically. My friend used this place to do their photo shoot after his wedding. The place needs to be taken care of, weeded and security men patrolling the fringes to maintain security. I also noticed that poachers may have started cutting some of these beautiful trees. This place is the Ngwo pine forest, Ukaka Ngwo. Just a kilometre away from Bianca Ojukwu's paternal home. Beauty grows in this town really 11 Likes 2 Shares

Credit goes to no Government. It is a self planned, built and maintained city. The recent attempt to dualize the major road from Mgbidi has created deep gully erosion though I believe the present Government will repair it. If you've never been to Oguta try to visit this Holidays. 11 Likes 2 Shares
