Bsc in Accounting major gives exemption in FA 1 to FA 4 while the Diploma in accounting from ACCA involve exams/paper from FA 1 to FA 3....That means a person with Bsc in Accounting might not write any Exams for the Diploma. Would such a person be given a Diploma in Accounting certificate?? Fear of wasting money is the reason for these questions. quote author=mcstan18 post=67126197] The bolded makes one qualified for two or more certificates when juxtaposed with a degree certificate. just15:There is no difference when it comes to the actual exam papers. Perceived preferences come into play when people consider how responsive they are to mails/calls, flexibility in the speaking test dates, use of speakers or headphones, cost and duration of EOR, etc. But really, I don't think it matters. Just study hard and don't underestimate the test. In the words of a wise senior; "IELTS is a humbler of personalities" 3 Likes |

GlitteringStar: Absolutely. What ACA can't give, 3 ACCA papers can. ICAN really needs to do something about this. It's shameful. 4 Likes |

Psychostar: I am relatively new on this thread but I've done a bit of background reading so I will attempt to answer your questions. The first thing you need to do is estimate your points using the CRS tool using each of you as primary applicant. There are things you need to consider. 1. Age. If either of you is between 20-29yrs you get a whooping 100 points. From 30 to 40 the points reduce by 5 every year. So the younger person will have an advantage. 2. Educational Qualifications If you are the primary applicant, you get 112 points for your bachelors and your wife will contribute 10 points for her MBA (122 points in total for educational qualifications) If your wife is the primary applicant, she gets 126 points for her MBA and you will contribute 8 points for your bachelors (134 points in total - an extra 12 points) 3. IELTS The primary applicant can contribute up to 128 points if they ace the IELTS. The spouse contributes a maximum of 20 points. So if you score better in IELTS than your wife you may contribute more points eventually. 4. Work Experience With your 8 years experience you can contribute 50 points if you ace your IELTS. If your wife is the primary applicant, with only NYSC (I am assuming she has served) she will contribute only 25 points and this is if she aces IELTS. So you do need to consider all these factors to determine who will be the primary applicant. For POF, you can use a gift deed. Go to page 0 to see more on that. However, I think that this requirement is for our own good. Moving is something that should be properly planned and it is essential to have enough cash when moving to a new country. As for moving with family, a lot of people have done "short landing". It means going with your family, getting your documentation and then returning back to Nigeria. To renew your PR card you only need to have lived in Canada for a total of 2years. This means you may still have 3years to move finally. All the best 16 Likes 2 Shares |
