Kemi Adeosun: Before you pick a stone by Soibi Polymath

Nigeria’s Minister for finance Mrs Kemi Adeosun has come under severe scrutiny over allegations that her National Youth Service Certificate was doctored. The Ogun state born minister has been in the news lately over issues related to her Youth service and it has come as a huge shock to some while some others are well seated over the allegations. Mrs Kemi Adeosun was born in London in 1967 to Nigerian parents and also had her education in London. The female minister has been said to have skipped her NYSC which is compulsory in Nigeria for all graduates of Polytechnics and Universities in the country.

The one year service to their father land has been a legal requirement before any graduate below age 30 can secure employment in the country. The NYSC programme began in 1973 as a means to unite and reconcile the nation after the civil war and is achieved by dispersing graduate citizens to other territories outside their state of origin in order for them to get used to other cultures and language differences which can lead to adaptability, tolerance and National unity. Citizens who skip this requirement are liable to a one year prison sentence and a fine of 2000 Naira according to section 13 of the NYSC law. The NYSC law also prescribes
